Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

(Think I’ve forgotten a report for July, ho hum…) August’s BAM ticked off on Monday night, eking out the long weekend. I’d even proposed an earlier than ususal start, in order to get a hot meal at a pub before settling down. Despite this, early offers of companionship resulted in a comprehensive rou...

Re: WTB Resolute

I wouldn't say long term experience yet, but... Bought these in 700x42c with the intention of using them for the Badger Divide route. I wanted as large a volume as I could fit in my frame (Cotic Escapade), something that wouldn't clag up as soon as the going got even slightly gloopy, and as lightwei...

Re: Convert mechanical to hydraulic brakes?

When set up properly, I find the Spyres provide more than enough power. As the pads wear, performance drops off a bit, but it's easily remedied using the pad adjuster screws. Where they do lose out to full hydro systems is modulation, though this can be addressed to some degree with good quality (co...

I've found the Shimano resin pads to give best performance and quietness (albeit at the expense of longevity).

Re: Crowdsourcing where to find water - Tap & Trough

Thanks for the feedback so far. I've dropped the folk who run the site a line about non-Twitter ways to contribute.

It's still available for people to use without Twitter, and doesn't require an app (other than a web browser) to view it, which strikes me as a good thing.

Crowdsourcing where to find water - Tap & Trough

There's a Twitter feed and website that's trying to crowdsource points where you can access drinking water when cycling in the UK. https://mobile.twitter.com/TapAndTrough http://tapandtrough.blogspot.com/2016/12/blog-post.html?m=1 Might be of use to folk on here? Some of you may be able to contribute?
