Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
Neil In your vid to mention getting to 38x38 Any particular reason? No. I drew a totally arbitrary square on the map that took in a load of squares that I had and a load I didn't, just to give me some focus on which areas I would visit first. It just happened to be 38x38 I was thinking of writing u...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
Just been for a burn out to Harts Hill, Nuneaton and Bedworth. Hot one out there but maybe the last sun cream required ride for a while so totally worth it.

Re: Frame bag
I have looked at this brand a few times and always thought they looked like reasonable value. For various reasons that I'm not even sure of I went with other options, but none of those reasons were because I didn't like the look of them. I recently had a custom frame bag from Straight Cut Designs in...

Re: Stupid ideas you can't shake.
For me it's the Transcontinental. I just keep watching or reading things about it and get excited every time. I'm finding it difficult to shake off that feeling. I had been hoping to use LEJOG1400 this summer as a tester for myself to see how I was really dealing with multi-day event under a strict ...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
The bridle way is the Strava heatmap line. I should have looked on the OS map. Become so used to using open street map lately I basically forgot to look at an OS map... I should move my OS maps over to my new Garmin actually.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Oh, think I have just seen on Strava heatmap where I should be going... although it looks like a proper field yomp after a stealth mission through a farmyard.

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
Dont think i've ever regretted an explorer ride When I was doing North Brum just recently, I wouldn't have said I regretted any rides as there was a certain charm about doing some urban riding, seeing and feeling the city, but many of those places I will simply never want to return to. However, the...

Re: Stupid BB/Tool sizes
I had this issue about a month ago. Went to replace my 105 BB with an older ht2 then realised my tool didn't fit! After a Twitter rant, the consensus response was that I would get an adaptor if I ordered a new 105 BB. Ordered one and it arrived with no adaptor! I almost sh1t. It was a Merlin special...

You can tell those who are now retired / bugger all else to do by their max square. Birmingham city centre for me this weekend. Wish me luck! I reckon the next 3 weeks could the last best chance to do those sorts of areas. Although honestly, I don't think the centre is that bad at all. I think the ...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
I looked at the VV leaderboard only yesterday (it is on your VV summary page) and saw that I am in 7th place for 2020 with 18x18. Just ahead of me on 19x19 are Jack Petersen and local rider to me Pete Johnson or PeeJay. Hope to catch them by the weekend although they may have pushed on further. I h...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles
I’m approaching some bigger towns, anything above 28x28 and I’ll have Warwick or oxford to deal with. Having now done the whole of the urban conurbation of Birmingham, the northwest/north/northeast during lockdown, believe me Warwick is going to be easy.  Did you sprint through Nechel...

Suggestions are to use: https://brouter.de/brouter-web <Load>, <Tracks>, <Your VV .kml file> Allows you to plot in your missing tiles and from there you can plot a route. Only an initial play around, but looks promising :-bd Once you got route done with that you could even load the exported GPX int...
