Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Hi, I've somehow slipped out of the forum again recently, and surprisingly even during the five days I've just been travelling and spending a few days with my parents, who only seem to be vertical for a very few hours in between like ins, naptimes, and early nights, I'm only now managing to pick up ...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Here goes, lowering the bar as promised. Went out last night, expecting it to be absolutely bitterly cold, but it actually seemed to have warmed up a bit. No real frost on the ground, though a bit of ice on some cars as I arrived back home. Obviously went out to enjoy it, but also as I had failed to...

I now can't go anywhere without scoping potential bivvy spots and hopefully that will lead me into being more daring for 2024 :-bd Same here Martin  , I always have a mental list way longer than there are months.... A fogou for the first, a damp affair Then by the bypass, awoken by the moon In March the Duke of Buccleuch slept unaware Come April, close to home, a dry lagoon And Spring once sprung, the woods! Also, bumped into a chap walking his dog who mentioned another potential spot; an abandoned hospital, complete with children's toys last time he was there.

Happy to report that last night was the first one to contain stars for quite some time. It departed leaving a slightly misty and cold morning with a little frost / ice. About Frankfurt area, it'll be a case of getting there in relatively short time so I'll be on road but breaking up the route with some off-road sections is always good. Thanks!
Ride one of my bikes to my parents (near Frankfurt!)

More regular 2 night trips from my door into Wales would be good, around the Brecons and Black Mountains. Riding to Eurobike again if I can swing it as a work product test trip (it would be, honest).
