If you did that in an area with a peat rich soil, how do you know the fire is really out? It could reignite the following day after leaving and there's you proud of yourself for following "leave no trace"...

I can't see a significant improvement happening until the summer, then, maybe. The whole population doesn't need to be vaccinated, only the vulnerable.
