Get in touch with Hope and tell them what you've done, they might be able to sort out a conversion kit.

The question is, do I roll my shorts up to the shave line or leave them long and get a white stripe between the bottom of the shorts and hair?voodoo_simon wrote: So, lately I've seen advice such as carrying two bottles of suncream for a day ride

The 11 speed hub is a tiny bit wider, so the 10 speed cassette will fit but you'll need a spacer on first.

Looks like he's a bit navigationally challenged at the moment.
Given that I know cock all about the sea or rowing I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

Re: SPOT Trackers or alternatives
I'm going to get one this year. Having disappeared "off grid" for a few days in September, when I turned the mobile phone on after four days I had lots of missed calls and texts. Facebook was funnier with wifey and her friends worried sick. It wasn't the first time and probably won't be th...

The problem I've found with the double glazing film is that's incredibly slippery when wet. Try it on a rainy night on the merest hint of a slope and report back.

Re: Ti soft tail
The Moots is £3700 just for the frame. I like riding my bike. But not that much. I was going to ask earlier if you were aware of the price but the frames you linked to in the original post are similar. I don't get the soft tail with a Lauf fork. If you're going soft tail would you not be better off...

Re: are these the perfect bike packing shoes
Doesn't bother me. I don't ride flats and don't like the feel of soft SPD shoes on the bike. I've been riding (and sometimes walking) in a pair of Giro VR90's all summer, no problems at all.KBRPro wrote:A stiff sole and hike-a-bike just don't go together.

They're fugly with that heel cup and not SPD compatible, so a million miles away from my perfect shoe.

Jenson USA have them in stock and shipping is $11.30 which seems a bit more reasonable.

Re: A question about lights
Not that I'm an expert, but vehicle lights on dip have a beam pattern that's flat then rises to the left. They illuminate the pavement\verge whatever you want to call it but don't dazzle oncoming traffic. Bike lights, particularly MTB lights have a broad, mainly unfocused beam which lights up everyt...

If I get made redundant early enough:
May - paint the outside of the house
June - a tour with wifey
Late July - Great Divide
Fingers crossed I'll be out the door by the end of April with a years salary but I won't know until the end of January.

How much for the marin btw Make me an offer. It's around a 1992 I think looking at pictures on Google (blackish with orange forks and stays). Re: Classic bikes
Apart from canits being a bit rubbish compared to discs I can't see why it would be a problem, there's plenty of people riding rigid 26ers and enjoying themselves. In fact I've got a nice Marin Eldridge Grade in the loft if you fancy giving it a go.

Lauf fork questions
I seem to have developed a bit of Lauf curiosity, so: How does the fork react to weight? On a conventional telescopic fork you'd set the sag which would vary according to rider weight and in our case load in the front dry bag. Has anybody let their fat mate have a go? What do the forks feel like whe...
