My list would look like this for an ITT*:
Quilt - 560g
3/4 mat - 100g
Bivvy bag - 460g
PHD Ultra vest - 180g
Hat - 25g
Waterproof - 280g
Various spares / tools - ?g
Gps on bike, card in pocket and a 750ml bottle.
*It would look quite different for a 'tour'.

Re: How do you get your consent form signed (by the missus)?
I can't actually help as I tend to suffer the opposite and am often told to bugger off  However, I used to ride with someone who used the angle that, the time they spent away de-stressed them and allowed them to focus on the important stuff in life. This made them a far nicer person to live w...

Re: XT chainsets?????
The 'only' difference is related to the ring sizes. The 30t middle ring on the 782 requires the use of a different spider / bcd, hence the 96mm spacing rather than the more usual 110mm / 64mm. If you think the 22/30/40 will be better for you than the 24/32/42 buy the 782 ... if not then just buy the...

Yes a gpx of suggested waypoints would be good enough - if anybody has it... I'm not sure you can really have a gpx of the GR but here's the list from this year for the 'full WRT'. I got either these or the 3t ones from on-one many months ago. One bar just wouldn't tighten up As they were a fiver, I couldn't be bothered posting them back for a refund. Keep meaning to try bar ends in-board as an alternative as this thread shows viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2345&hilit=bar+ends M...

Re: Dynamo lights
Thought 1 ... how much multi-day stuff have you got planned ? I see the ability to charge other stuff as a real bonus but only really if you're planning on trips of more than 2 days. Thought 2 ... you could sell your existing lights to offset the cost of the Revo set-up. Thought 3 ... if you've got ...

Once I obtain some more sealant, buy some glitter and find my little valve adapter thingie I will likely have a go at the petrol station air pump, that should do it! http://cdnimg.visualizeus.com/thumbs/ab/eb/artwork,glitter,man,photograph,photography-abeb5e8b43f256fc37ee2835cc125086_h.jpg?ts=93246...

My last CX related Q ... honest.
Just sorting the cables out and can't decide whether I should: A / Break the gear cables out of the tape along the bottom edge of the bar before the drop ... kind of old school. B/ Keep them under the bar tape all the way round the drops. My thoughts are that option A might produce a better shifter ...

Anyone else got snow this morning? I assume there's been some in Scotland for a while but anyone that bit lower ... I'm hoping this isn't the start of Winter proper because it'll be a long one if it is.

Re: Inbred 29er
Looking at inbred 29er slot dropout to run single speed and geared sometimes or is it a big nightmare Works well enough. The last few versions have tapered washers that run against tapered slots on the inside of the drop-out, so in theory you don't require a chaintug ... sometimes they grip but not...

Re: 2 Speed Hub
Ta, would be good to see a review once you get it No trouble. Rear cogs range from 13t - 23t so hopefully there'll be a good ratio to be had. My only concern is sealing, I've read that the old, non-disc version doesn't have much in the way of hub sealing. However I am hoping they might have address...

Noon for meeting up, then add half an hour or so for faffing, so 1ish for getting underway. Reckon we should be back at the start by 2.00pm Sunday at the very, very latest but more likely midday.

After much interneting and emithering it seems that SA have no intention of bringing these into Europe (the UK importers didn't know the hubs existed until I got in touch).
