Re: Helmet Lights
Yet another happy Joystick owner here (mk12 or 13). It's set to last 24 hours in low mode and I normally only run a be seen light on the bars for road use.

Perhaps Stu should market BBB carbon poles as having double usage as a yard stick for measuring the depth of fords

Re: Suggest a backpack
I quite liked the look of the henty enduro pack that was reviewed a few months ago on BBB. I was going to try one of those once my current deuter pack dies though that might not be for a while.

Doesn’t velo viewer combined with a strava subscription give you that sort of data - I presume that’s what the pro teams are using it for.

Similarly, I’m a 31”-32” waist and the mediums are a good fit so they seem true to the recommended size

^ such cynicism  Heh heh, ooh you old cynic you Mr Paul Guilty as charged, m'luds. For full disclosure, I own a plaid shirt (though never worn it on a bike), ridden a gravel bike across inappropriate terrain (Arkose, thanks James) and a Rab down jacket (one of my favourite bits of kit), and I...

Re: Improving Bikepacking
First of all you need to define what you mean by bikepacking - do you mean the mainstream bike manufacturer marketing definition where you have to wear a plaid shirt, dangle your mug, ride a drop-barred gravel bike on less than ideal terrain, display your Rab logos with pride and 'gram your pictures...

Maybe they thought that with the Lauf the bike would be gopping anyway so they might as well go for broke.

Either that or someone who knows that their lance won't shatter into a thousand sharp splinters of wood.
Back on the other photo, is that a rohloff shifter that's been mounted on the stem faceplate?

easily swappable pump mounts
I came across this on Path Less Pedaled and I was wondering if anyone had seen anything similar from a UK manufacturer: https://originalfreerange.com/collections/riding-accessories/products/quickdraw-single-co2-holster Being able to swap a pump from bike to bike by attaching it to the bottle cage is...

Re: Rear Light recommendations
I can't help with the recommendations but I've lost 4 lights while clipped to the wildcat seat harness straps so I've given up on that approach. I've lost a moon, 2 lezynes and a bontrager. They all had a very similar clip arrangement but they've all bounced off.

You'll need one of these I believe.

They do a micro usb one too, it just doesn't seem to be on their website at the moment.

Re: Lights - is this available?
Does the Joystick have a charge-out line? (will go and look them up..). If I could get 2000mah out of the light battery into the Garmin and have enough left for lighting on weekend rides it'd be a wider-ranging bit of kit. You can get a Boost cable to charge devices - just plugs in to the smartport...
