Re: BB200 2020

Both events I singed up to do this year were cancelled, plus I couldn't make the WRT. Itching to do something a bit more organised, but only have the gravel bike. Not sure I fancy 36 hours of type three fun... You'll never have the correct bike Bob because the variation in terrain means it doesn't ...

Re: Todays ride

First proper ride since August the 7th. Good to be back out, but a touch chilly early doors. Plus loads of dew on the grass, making things slippy and slidy.

Re: Lanshan 1 users what length pole are you using

So I have a Lanshan 1 Pro inbound. Do I just buy the SMD Lunar Solo – carbon, single Pole-A-Bear, or am I going to have to chop up a broom handle to find the exact length for this particular tent and buy a custom length...?

Re: What Bike

A view on fat bikes? I have to say, I find myself strangely drawn to them I loved my fat bike. I had a Calibre Dune, unfortunately, I cracked the frame. The only problem, other than Jumbo Jims being sub standard in the mud, was it was horribly slow on the road. I replaced it with a gravel bike, but...

My wife is sifting through here family history, here is her great grandfather in 1920 (or thereabouts). Check the geometry on that thing! Looks like that ugly Stooge fork has been around for longer than I realised...

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

Have been feeling a bit grotty the last few days, with the onset of a cold type thing. Decided to ditch my original plan and just pop down to a group of trees, on a byway about two miles from the house. I set up the bivy bag under a friendly tree and settled down for the night, or at least, I tried ...

Unless someone on here is getting rid of one. Yes, it's very tempting price wise, but as previously discussed in the mists of time, I'm not wanting to buy from China (or Planet X for example).

Right, that's it, doubts assuaged, I'm buying a Lunar Solo, plus a pole from Stu. Do I need fancy carbon or Ti pegs while I'm at it, or are the ones that come with it OK...?

Re: Before I buy a Lunar Solo...

After the last few experiences in the bivy bag, I want a tent. The Gatewood Cape and Serenity Bug Tent are a bit too spendy for me at the moment.

Deschutes or Gatewood with a mesh inner? More flexible as you can use it with a lightweight bivvy bag or even a groundsheet.
Might be more flexible, but it's also a damn sight more expensive... 🤷‍♂️

I would not order one if in a rush as mine was delayed - love it in use mind .
Can you sit up in it...? That's my only concern with that one, as the Lunar Solo has a bit more head room.
