Re: The post man's been ...

couple of days ago, my order from Wildcat arrived (very swiftly), with a Dr Jon G-Funk bundle. Have to say it's a tidy set-up, and the discount code from the other thread was spot on! :-bd

Re: Ruska2020

Not heard of that before, looks a great route and a nice time of year for it. Pretty challenging timings though for mortals!

I'd fancy a route that goes up the east side with a bit less time pressure, but either way it'd feel like a big ride in a big country.

Re: Looking ahead - what are you looking forward to?

For cycling, mainly a chance for a longer overnighter at some point would be nice. I fancy a decent hipster cup of coffee in a cafe too. Main thing is being able to see my family again, and for them to meet my 4 week old son. Video calls don't cut it really... and they don't change nappies for you e...

Re: Gravel Gearing....again

Won't work with tiagra shifters if that's what you have. Shimano mtb and road isn't interchangeable. 10spd tiagra is the same cable pull as 11spd Road derailleurs, but 10 and 11 spd mtb are not compatible with road stuff unless you get a cable pull converter like a wolf tooth tanpan or a shiftmate...

Re: Gravel Gearing....again

Other option is to get a 10 speed grx rear mech which will work with tiagra 4700. It's rated to 36t but I got it working easily with an slx 40t cassette. The wolf tooth goatlink would work if you wanted it as its shadow+ and all simple to set up. 10spd grx rear mech is a lot cheaper than 11spd, has ...

Almost certainly of no use, but i'll put it out there anyway...I have a Sanderson Town Crier 29 i'm looking to move on, but it's 21 inch/XL so perhaps too big? It's QR and a nicely built frame though..

It's also easy to forget that pro racing isn't just about riding bikes, it's about advertising. On a day in The Tour when it's guaranteed to be a sprint finish there will still be a few riders we've never heard of who have no chance of wining the stage who go up the road in the breakaway all day on...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

I guess it's personal choice really, but my thoughts are it can be rotated around the bar a bit to suit tyre/cable clearance needs. It looks like cables get more room than a harness with fork straps might? Also, weight closer to the bar might feel better, but I wouldn't know as i've not used somethi...

I've been doing more cheeky trails and it's been great. People generally OK, although a few with headphones can't hear me or the bell so have to pass too close. It's really beautiful out at the moment, and blissfully dry. (below is not a cheeky trail). https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49776873003...

I think I also have lust for getting out and seeing spring happen, and seeing family and friends again. more than anything. I'm also feeling the opposite of bike lust. I've been riding plenty and enjoying 2 new (to me) bikes, and it makes me want the minimum i need and just do tinkering and wheel/ty...

Re: Who’s appreciating riding their bike?

One positive of all this time WFH is that I've been out on my bike and exercising more often than ever. Really quite enjoying it. Like Voodoo, running is only for off-road and with the dog (AFAIC), this needed a little driving to good spots. That's stopped as the car parks have been barricaded off....

Yes, and getting out most days too, sometimes with the boy. Most of my riding is normally from the door anyway, but I'm making sure I explore all possibilities close by. It's dried out so much here that conditions are perfect, and I get a great mix of everything. Also hoping I get to see spring unfo...

From what i've read it seems like the antibody text isn't accurate enough, so there's not currently the option for people to do home tests to have the 'all clear'. Also, it sounds like there are varying levels of antibody reaction (hence poor detection) which might mean there is reduced confidence i...

Liked it a lot so have moved onto Hinterland I hate that programme - it makes mid-Wales look grey, dreary and the inhabitants retarded and backwards ... not everyone's like that  I know what you mean about Hinterland (same with Hidden on BBC at the moment), it revelled in dreary/atmospheric c...
