Re: Winter gravel tyre - Resolute v Ravager

Not tried the Ravagers, but have ridden Resolutes a fair bit. I'd say they're excellent on rough/loose gravelly surfaces, but do get overfaced quickly by gloop (though still better than G-one allrounds and Teravail Cannonballs). Senderos were an improvement, but I think they're only 650b.

Also a wee teddy if they are of that age.
Age is no limiting factor for teddies, just ask Sean and Ralph!

Re: TLH - take less hair

I remember an article in one of the MTB magazines back in the early nineties that looked into all the ways one could save weight when biking.
It concluded with a line something like, "If all else fails, go for a dump before leaving the house."

Re: Impossible to fit a bar bag?

Maybe something using a Rixen Kaul Klickfix mount? You'll need at least 83mm of space for the clamps between the cross-top brake levers, and it will space a bag out ~50mm from the bars. For the gear cables, I've seen folk hack them using V-brake noodles where the cable comes out of the shifter. This...

Pimp my breakfast

I'm so bored of porridge. Even foraged blackberries didn't perk up this weekend's bivi brekky. Any suggestions?

(Must be achievable using only an 8g stove, 300ml mug, eating pot, spoon and penknife.)

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

Ended up walking up Tennyson Down again in the afternoon. Wind had not abated. It was great to meet Sean and have a bivvy off my usual patch. Sean's current swearing off from alcohol ahead of the Cairngorms Loop also meant I didn't need to share my beer and whisky stash. 2020 BAM 8/8 2020 total bivv...

Was it
a) the tussocky death march from hell, or. .
b) a rather successful ride with the kids, including my half of beer being accidentally upgraded to a pint by the bar staff?

Re: Rear light bracket mounting (bloomin) woes!

I just strap my light to the drive-side seatstay.
Depending on your light(s)/angle of your stays, you might want some sort of additional bracket which can probably be expertly bodged from some spare reflector mounts or similar.

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

1. I can confirm the empty beer cans did come home with me. Along with a giant Doritos bag, a Foster's can, a plastic spoon, and a Lucozade bottle, all courtesy of assorted arseholes who managed to pack the stuff in, but not out. 2. No comment. 3. We sat down for a brew, they swam and waddled over, ...
