My Enlightened Revelate quilt turned up today, that was a long 7 weeks!
It's flipping lovely!
Does kipping out on my decking tonight count as a bivi?

Re: Bothys ..how much are they used?
So it has been 20 odd years since I used bothies, didn't see many people and when I did there was a respect shown for other users. If I turn up in a bothy now and a bunch of people rock up and show no regard for me being there is it okay for me to ask them to consider myself and other users or is it...

Lovely Lakes weekend
I had a couple of days in the Lakes. No bivving but I did sleep in the back of the van with the doors open... got to use my new stove thingy which was good. Went up Skiddaw on Saturday with Ullock Pike descent as the main aim of the day, it is a stunner. Then a loop from Staverley up to Nan Bield Pa...

Re: Tarpologists - what do I need?
Great thread, I am in the process of buying all the 'extra' bits, guys, pegs poles etc. I have a couple of questions. What do you bang your pegs in with? Seems like it would be somewhat counter productive to carry a mallet!! I am guessing you just push them in or get good at using your foot. Secondl...

Re: GPX routes - how to use help needed.
Thanks for the tips on sites, I can see many hours of my life being spent on there trying to get it right....
Yes, it is my main phone... I do have a battery pack so battery life shouldn't be an issue if that is the concern.
I can always carry another phone if on a longer trip.

GPX routes - how to use help needed.
Hi So I have been riding for donkeys years but never have I followed a GPX route in my life. With the coming together of my bikepacking kit it dawned on me that it would be very helpful if I got a grasp on the whole following a route thing! I have a Samsung Galaxy 6 and I picked up a phone holder th...

Re: Have I gone too hot?? Sleeping bag question
Cheers all. Sounds like the hours of reading up I did have paid off then, good to know it is a tried and tested product. I am a reasonably warm sleeper so hopefully I have gauged it about right, I just want it to arrive now, ordered on the 28th Sept so a waiting game. Fingers crossed it arrives in t...

Have I gone too hot?? Sleeping bag question
Hi all A brief history.... keen mountain biker and an ex hiker/backpacker/wild camper, that having been decades ago! Can't walk down hill now due to dodgy knees. I bought a bunch of bike packing stuff off a fella over on Singletrackworld, bar bag, saddle bag, frame bag, mat and tent. I have since go...

Re: SE (Chilterns) Winter Bivy - 10/11 Dec
Hi all New here and new to bike packing. I have cobbled together a fair bit of kit but I am waiting for my sleeping quilt (who knew.... things have changed, i'll start a thread on it over in Banter in a bit as I may have made a blunder.) to arrive and i'm good to go. I would love to join you on this...
