Doesn't this rely on the vessel being a uniform cross section, all the way down?

Circular aluminium plate with 4 holes, 90 degrees apart - 2 oriented for the light and 2 oriented for the mount. Attach plate to light, with countersunk screws, offer the plate up to the mount and screw from below. ? Hmmm... could work if the alu plate eas thick enough to get a thread going. But fi...

Re: Marking inside a titanium pot

+1 for the marks on the spork - kind of like a dipstick. Just need to remember that it'll be calibrated for that diameter of pot, so you'll have to repeat the process if you get a pot with a different diameter

And then apply loads of helicopter tape ( or similar) where the new strap will rub against your frame.

Pretty much always "Morning madam/sir/kids/little dog/Mr magpie/horsey/sunrise/whatever !" If they don't react appropriately, then they're the one with a problem. Being out and about on a bike is such a joyous thing (despite the best efforts of the weather/terrain) you need to have something missing...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Not quite the end of the year, but I popped out for a 38 mile road ride, yesterday, to get to 11x11 - turned out to be a 46 mile rile, thanks to a fairly short connecting road being closed and the diversion being a long way round. It was a great day to be out, though, so the extra miles weren't a gr...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Starting from an 8x8 state, I popped out - yesterday - to fill in some gaps at one edge, with the intention of it being preparation for another ride to extend the other edge. Accidentally progressed to 9x9 - but, surprisingly, not including the original 8x8. Also managed to ride completely round two...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Made it up from 7 overlapping 14x14 squares to 3 times 15x15 today. It's mostly road work to expand the square at the moment so it depends if I've been feeling like it. I think 16 shouldn't take much more effort, although one of them is still in the middle of Crawley, then it gets much harder again...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Filled in one missing tile (which was awkward to get to, due to proximity to a busy dual carriageway), to jump from 6x6 to 8x8.

Got some more rides planned over the Xmas break - I can see this becoming quite addictive :)

Chin up, Rich - does sound like you've got a good attitude to what is basically crap news.
