Yeah, that's not even an issue with Salsa.

It had quite a bit of riding on it, was an early frame from last years batch, but yes. Getting sorted no questions asked. I do love Salsa and their down to earth nature.

Re: titanium frames

Just for balance: I had one. It broke. Twice. Titanium is overrated. Custom steel is what all the cool kids are riding now  ;) Maybe you just had a sub standard frame. I've broke maybe 5 alu. frames (road and MTB) over the years, and two steel frames (MTB). Still never broken a Ti or carbon o...

Having ridden both the Split Pivot and the older flex design...you made a good choice of not riding the new one...as you'd probably now own one :)

Re: titanium frames

I've a Ti Fargo. I've had zero negatives with it, I'd had a steel one before. The Ti one is nicer to ride, lighter, and in my eyes - looks better.

Also had Ti race hardtails in the past. Mixed batch, but most issues came from fit - not the material.

Re: Salsa Spearfish

I have one of last years ones. I've rode it down the Sarn Helen and done a few other bike packing rides on it. I've raced if for a few 24 hour races too. Also, it gets used as a bike for normal day to day riding. Hands down, it is one of the best all round bikes I've ever owned. I love it. https://f...

For those interested, this is the Twitter account that will be associated to the Highland Trail. https://twitter.com/HT_550 I'll try to keep it up to date during the race with what riders are up to - but will mainly be using it to announce finishing times and scratches. If you're racing, feel free t...

Re: Highland Trail 2015

IIRC the gate you're talking about - I have a vague memory of taking my bags off my bike, firing them over the gate, then climbing/dragging myself and bike over it.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

*ello* I was a little zoned at that stage hadn't really digested my two full fat toasties from Glenmore. Nice too meet you though :) Yeah, it wasn't something I'd even thought about - I just turned left and went on following the little purple line. Figured I'd driven up, wasn't in imminent danger of...

Re: Cairngorm loop May B/H

Well that was a bit epic. As said, I bailed to the outer loop at Glenmore. Original plan was to do the whole thing in one, so figured, why not and rode/pushed round the rest of the route. I did not bail down Glen Tilt, hence I claim a DNF* :) It got a little interesting at around 2am when my drivetr...

Surplus to requirements as I have a nice carbon Firestarter fork on my Fargo, and put some bounce on the El Marachii where it had lived. It's the same as this one: http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/salsa-fargo-v2-29er-fork---great-for-anything-cages-1382-p.asp There is 160mm of steerer left - so m...

Re: Cairngorm loop May B/H

Had a nice evening chat with my wife over concerns with rivers and snow levels. Her words "If it gets crap just turn around and ride down, or back" . So, I'm going to throw in a pair of Primaloft trousers and stick to it. As Steves email says, if it's bad, outer loop TT. At least riding SS my deraui...

I may of course retract that comment when I curl up into my soaking wet sleeping bag in the Fords of Avon refuge, unable to continue either forwards or back, sobbing quietly I'll think of you when I'm in my tent in Blair Athol after a few nice drinks in the pub. If I get up and it's crap, I'm going...
