Re: Tourino nice rally 2020 dates?

Thanks. Im lucky enough to have a place for this year, and i was aware of James' pledge that if you applied and didnt get in this year, you were primised a olace next year if you wanted one. I like the ethos, it just needs some rethinking of my travel strategy, or i wont ever ride events due to limi...

Re: bikes with super short stems & a Jones bar

Mrs B has some Jones bars in a Specialized Chisel. We experimented with drop bars and road shifters but madame decided she wanted Jones bars. The problem for us is the steerer on her bike has been cut short, so we need a short riser stem to get the bars in what seems like the correct position. If an...

Lightweight merino top recommendation?

I have a couple of Polaris merino cycling tops. They are idea for the UK weather for me, and for multiple days in the same top they dont smell. However when ive been in hotter climes, it has just been far too hot as a garment. So, im looking for a short sleeved lightweight merino cycling top. What c...

Re: GB Divide

It was completely brilliant. We ( me and Ruth and Huw) met up with about 30 very laid back people who wanted to ride bikes. There was a guy who had just done GBduro. There was no attitude or ego and we had a top time. There was an organised stop over on the evening, where for £20 you had a lamb stew...

Re: My GPS connundrum

Ok ace. I need to find out if the Etrex has that recharge facility or not. That may well change how it works out for me.

I will do a little more research.

Thanks for your help so far

Re: My GPS connundrum

Im quite happy to charge a powerbank as i ride for longer trips, or just a 2nd set of batteries for shorter adventures. I had heard that the Etrex will take a NiMh battery pack, or normal NiMh batteries as long as you depress a tiny switch inside 'fooling' the unit into thinking it has the Garmin re...

My GPS connundrum

Ive got more and more into longer rides and events and im really enjoying myself. I have used a rigid mtb and a grevel bike for several multiday trips. I have an SP dynamo hub that fits either bike, and i also have battery packs. So far so good. I have a Garmin edge 810 that has just died. I can get...
