Re: jones bar bag

Wildcat Tomcat here too. As above, when you just have the bag in place it does restrict things a little - for me mostly when climbing where you'd hold "the tops" on road bars. The Tomcat is cut a bit short at the ends so you can slot your thumbs through - that works well for me. I can use that when ...

Hi folk, Just upgraded to a shiny new device so this one is now surplus to requirements. It's the standard Edge Touring model, in good condition. Clean (ish), buttons and screen all work well. There's some accessories that will come with the unit, as listed here. Garmin Edge Touring head unit Garmin...

Re: Cassette tool - ways to hold it?

I've been looking at these as well. The point of them obviously is to not carry a cassette tool and a bloody big spanner, but can they fetch a centrelock disc rotor off as well? If not does such a thing exist?

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

Tonfanau has the added attraction of being one of the least-used stations in the country so it might be a surprise for the train crew as well. A peaceful half-hour by the beach ensued, followed by the train actually stopping as advertised and whisking us away back to the un-real world. An absolutel...

Re: Close encounters with the wild kind!

A good few years ago, riding the fine leafy lanes near Kinver. Freewheeling down a bit of a slope, there was a flurry of black and white fur from the hedge and some angry snarling! Assault by badger (I should be so lucky!). He smacked the front hub, didn't quite bring me down but hit hard enough to ...

Re: Back in the day....

If only they made bikes for that purpose back then
If only, that would've been "the" bike that was used for everything. Commuting, touring, club runs, take the saddlebag and guards off and that was the time trial bike as well

Back in the day....

Ok so it's touring and not bikepacking, but I thought it was worth posting this pic on here. It was taken by my Dad, the caption in the album says Bwlch Y Groes and another pic on the page puts it at August 1951. Looks like the tarmac isn't quite finished.... https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1801/4241...

You don't really need a sticker. The headgear normally gives it away.

FS Reba 26" dual air 80-120mm fork - for spares - Now sold

These are a set of Reba dual air forks from 2012, for 26" wheels. The forks don't hold negative air. The crown section, stanchions and lowers are in pretty good condition, and I believe the damper section to be in good condition. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/884/42916813142_01496caa5e.jpg P1060955...

Cheers Stu

Just got to organise a BaM to return the manual to it's owner!

Re: Footpaths

Apply the 'don't be a dick' rule, ride courteously, you'll rarely have issues.
Very much this.

There's more than a few bridleways near home that just change to a footpath as you cross parish boundaries as well. I see these as fair game, within the boundaries of fair use.

A black Rock Shox one? It's mine - I lent it to Dr Nick to set his lefty up - should be a Cannondale manual with it? - It's not his, he did forget!
