Re: Anyone bother with a lock when out?

Taking your front axle out will prevent anyone riding off on it & create a noise if they attempt to move it..

You can also get small personal attack type alarms with a motion sensor. Or use a pin-pull type with some fishing line..

Re: G-one tires

Got the 30mm speed variety set up tubeless on my Tripster. Found them good on road & better than expected on light-ish off road.. Had one puncture on the rear that I think was caused by glass, took a while, but did eventually seal.. Used a couple of 40mm-ish Maxxis on my pivot for the TNR. One is a ...

Re: Tuscany Trail or Veneto Trail?

Has the finish location changed this year? Edit: Looks like it might be finishing in Orbetello instead of Capalbio this year, but this is just a train station on the main line nearer to Pisa. I'd check train times when you get more certain of your finish time though, on a Sunday it can be a couple o...

Re: Tuscany Trail or Veneto Trail?

There's a relatively new light railway connecting the airport to Pisa main train station- https://www.visittuscany.com/en/ideas/from-pisa-airport-to-the-pisa-centrale-train-station/ From Pisa Centrale get the train to Massa, then either ride or taxi to the sign-in venue. As Gairy mentioned, you'll n...

Re: Bell + drop bars + bags

I always thought a bell was mandatory? Only at the point of sale for a complete bike. There's no rule to have it fitted in use on UK highways, except in Northern Ireland. It also opens up an option for a v. cheap or free bell- they normally have loads knocking about at lbs's. They're usually rubbis...

Yep. I haven't had a bell on a bike since I was about 8 (apart from the bell end riding it LOL). A simple "morning!" or "excuse me please guys" has always done the trick. I find that doesn't work well in a busy or 'urban' setting though. Been cycling in London with & without a bell this last week, ...
