Re: Lluest Cwm Bach - between Christmas + NY?

30-40 miles each way. Me and Stu ride at a steady pace, so about 5-6 hours of riding/pushing/bog snorkling  From Rhayader it would be a case of following the reservoirs up the old rail track to the top dam and then somehow finding a route to the Bothy. From what i've read its abit boggy that...

Re: Lluest Cwm Bach - between Christmas + NY?

How far do you want to ride Jase? You're welcome to ride with Chew and me, we'll be setting off from SN871976 which depending on route could be 30 - 40 miles. The other options would be to ride in from Rhayader (I could send you a gpx if you wanted) or maybe meet us somewhere in the middle? That wo...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

How do the 5.10's come up size wise? Big, Small, Normal? 5-10's are normally quite big, for the normal Spitfires go for at least 1/2 size down to your normal footware (not cycling shoes). The canvas Spitfires come up a bit smaller, so you shouldn't be far off with your normal size. There's hardly a...

I'm also very interested in this thread as i'm now coming to the conclusion that my small Thermarest Prolite isn't gonna cut it if my baptism of winter bivviing is the T&B!

Where's the best/cheapest place to buy an Exped? Presuming that you're talking about UL 7's not 9's??

Small Fuel Tank for me, no black left so settled on Steel.. Had a problem with the online checkout page though, so had to ring them up & order over the phone :? Thanks for the heads-up, been waiting ages for these to come back in stock & had already asked Father Christmas for a Revelate Designs one!

Re: How do you keep your feet warm?

I've got a pair of Ground Effect Zig Zags & they're brilliant socks, closely followed by some Woolie Boolies. Much prefer these over Sealskinz any day, don't like the way that the seal skinz let water in through the ankle & then hold it in the sock. Never tried Endura or Lidl in comparrison though. ...

That's definitely Honister, he came down the easy side though. It's Warnscale he should done, one of the best/difficult downhills in the Lakes..

Re: Crank Brothers Clipless pedals

+1 for the Time Atac's, expensive compared to the Shimano though. Got/had a couple of pairs, the last ones the clip in mechanism wore out before the bearings, in fact bought a spare set of bearings years ago anticipating a failure that has never happened.. Had some CB Candy's years ago, silky smooth...
