Re: Atlas Mountain Race.

It's not a huge leap to think a significant number of them will also be able to suppress the tiredness/soreness/bewilderment that comes with riding alone through the night. I think it is because roughing it for hours and days over rough terrain with no support ormuch sleep is not like 6-8 hours eff...

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.

no one doubts the ex pros will be quick but i seriously doubt they ever spend 16 hours in the saddle day after day without much sleep[never mind without dieticians ,physios doctors and massage personel - the ability to cope with this is the key to winning [ and finishing]. Someone will make the step...

I was 1mm off PFFT beginer - I once did one rim with 14 mm nipples on the non drive side to compensate for their shortness- I am sure they were getting towards 5mm and we are real real stugggle to get the last few to engage with the nipple - Still using ther wheel but it was the last time I reused ...

Re: 'Prepping' What's that about?

It's a shame firearms and hunting laws are what they are here i dont think many of us want the freedoms of the US and the subsequent death rate that go with it. I barely trust my fellow citizens with cars never mind firearms. As for prepping I just dont see the point as i dont fear what they fear a...

Re: Home Made Bio-Fuel.

I dont think its a grey area but for some reason folk get confused when they discover we eat things that were once alive. Technically it is a single celled organism so yes it could be considered an animal. That is not a definition of animal I am familiar with - most bacteria are single celled but i ...

EDIT: Plants are living till you eat them . Veganism is not about not eating things that are alive its about not eating things that are alive[ or their byproducts] that can feel pain suffering , discomfort etc. its a fungus so it belongs to the animal kingdom in much the same way a mushroom does [ n...

Re: Jay Petervary : Bikepacking's Bad Boy or Ambassador ?

Mike Curiak letter. He comes across as a real tosser. The bit that gets me is two of the claims involve an unamed rider other rider- why has he just named him when there should be proof - the drafting and the lift ones. The real issue is their is no evidence here just internet rants whihc proof not...

i think we all just read way to much into social medai stuff. We dont now the people and I think JP was trying to keep the tour special and I think Lael- if you read everything is actually praising her and admiring her. i I think she views her as "not a racer" but a finisher who enjoys the events an...

But as it was Jay P (a man) calling out Lael (a woman) then people went off on a tangent about all sorts of other perceived discrimination which I don't think was the case. i think most people said that if you wanted someone to defend standards/ethics and speak up for integrity you would not pick h...

this mix indeed seems like the worst of both worlds
so everyone who does not use them keeps saying
In use its just a brake that is better than a non hydraulic cable pull disc brake that has never let me down in operation.
