Re: E-Bikepacking

A blanket ban on e-bikes on trail would ensure that anyone riding one there was clearly doing so illegally Well yes ther eis no arguingthat it would achieve that but the point is whether this is a good idea or bad idea I pefer to ban the chipping of e-bikes and enforcing that than banning all e-bik...

Re: Wildcamping toxic?

wild and adventure I dont think those who turn up for a piss up use those words - want to come to a party in the woods - possibly - but lets go for a wild adventure in the outdoors - I cannot see it. I do agree on the broad point that advenutre/wild can vary but walking 300 m from a car is no ones ...

Re: Tow bar bike racks?

Re: Sleeping Bag Rated to -6 and a tent 3 edging into 4 season tent

If it's a synthetic bag, then it'll be much more complicated and probably not really worth trying. Aye you cannot really compare if they have used a different inuslation material- a few use their own propietary stuff as well [Nordisk lightweight 10 c one for example- forget what its calledfilling n...

Re: Wildcamping toxic?

I shall use stealth caming
Those referred to as wild camping, who ruin it, are basically having a party in the countryside rather than camping.

I see no connection between me and them though i suspect the general public does

I dont think anyone expects us all to agree - we would not even agree on what type of bike to take never mind the kit - but it might be iteresting to see the variation/what folk like the most. Can i add i agree about waterproof socks - they are ok for commuting but how they can be decribed as waterp...

is there not a scre you can adjust to bring the brake closer to the bar - pretty sure even the cheapo set on my kids bike at that age had the adjuster - its usually between where the brake cable enters and the clamp and just a simple screw I can get some for free probably when back in work but who k...

Pretty sure its sweat that makes my sealskinz wet as the inside is often damp and the outside dry or at least dryer

As noted I think you have to just go for warm once wet off road or wear some winter boots - but they are too warm IME

Re: Do I need an Exposure (6 pack Race or Diablo)

I usea joystick with a MTB external battery pack or i use a sinewave becon dynamo light* + joystick but no external battery - i can charge it from the dynamo power pack if required. IMHO you dont need a brightlight in the middle of nowhere as your eyes adapt to less light and the top setting still s...
