Re: Tell me three things that...wI did not too

1) Forests - enough said really but love the ever changing colours throughout the year. The smells and am the peace and calm from them. Love how the sun comes in through the trees 2) Hills and mountains - the views, the solitude 3) wifey-voodoo and mini-voodoo - I’m very lucky but I always have some...

My daughter is gutted, she loves school

We may be ok though as we have a nurse in the family, so we’ll see what happens

Moral question - holidays

In brief, have a wedding to attend in Portugal first week of July and as such, we’re turning it into our (only) family holiday if the year. Can’t see it going ahead giving the current situation, so... I’ve looked at booking.com for a UK holiday as they offer free cancellation in their bookings, woul...

I work outside on a daily basis so that means I a) have no option to work from home 2) can’t see what difference it will make to me if I ride solo Until it’s banned, I’ll keep going out to keep my sanity on the right side* *although I’ll be upset that I started my decorating a couple of sundays back...

That Trek looks nicer to me.
The trek is a great bike and well thought out (although perhaps not the BB).

Bought a Trek Procaliber 9.7 in November and it’s a cracking bike :-bd

What was the deal a few years ago that Salsa offered? Didn't they give you a full sus fat bike with every gravel bike purchased or something like that? Edit : Trek Chekpoint at £800 - although it does mean you own a Trek  https://www.harryhallcycles.co.uk/smsimg/14/8750-34590-main--14.jpg

Re: Salsa go SS Gravel.

The salsa website described the thinking behind it as a cheap singlespeed to use when conditions are too bad for the good bike? So £1200 for frame and fork is somewhat wide of the mark? It needed to be half or a third of that to be cheap? I like the new flat mount alternator dropouts. Exactly this ...

Wonder how much?!
It'll only be available in the UK as a F&F and cost about £1200.
£1200 for frame and fork?!

Can get a fully built Trek Checkpoint at that price and then convert it over as it’s SS compatible with its stranglehold (?) dropouts

Re: Camera Phones (Sorry)

I would have recommended the iPhone 7 Plus, very impressed with the quality of the camera but this winter, the phone has suffered in the bitter winds. Its died a few time on the hills when I’ve been running, has a 50% battery and just hibernates. Battery life in ‘normal weather’ is perfectly fine, i...

Lowe Alpine dry flow hat, had it since I was ~15, still going strong 20 years later.

Suunto compass also going well after 20 years, or at least still pointing north

Re: Wanted: panniers to borrow or hire

Is the rack there for the battery? If so, a lot of these are too thick for panniers, so the manufacturers often offer side attachments that allow panniers to fit. Might be worth asking the question for the place you got it from

Re: You already know this, but.....

When in Norway we did a winter biking training camp. One of the tips was to have an insulated jacket and trousers immediately to hand to put on when you stopped for more than a minute or two - you've generated the heat, don't lose it. The lead instructor had her jacket in one of her stem cells, if ...
