I have been lucky and my postcard picked from the ballot. It has been an anxious few months waiting as I've been looking forward to doing this ride

Re: GoPro adapter for Garmin Out-Front

Ive an inexpensive plastic out front xcombi one from ebay, but used for a light rather than camera. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-Bracket-Holder-Handle-Bar-GPS-Computer-Mount-Adpter-For-Garmin-Edge-Gopro/371998237482?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D56491%26meid%3Db3418cf226...

I use Tacx Carbon Assembly Compound when grippage is required. And Park Tool High Performance Grease HPG-1 when carbon-friendly grease is required

Jeez-o, thanks for the warning.

Just nipped in the lunch hour to select a thick, glossy one of Edinburgh castle, which is hopefully thick and glossy enough to draw James' fingers to

I joined Duncan on his Tarragona/Bilbao C2C earlier this year, and previously stayed in the area for a roadie holiday. I think it's a perfect base for a gravel, XC/CX or road cycling holiday

Re: Expensive hipster bivvy gear

Is it really expensive? PHD half bags are about that price. How can one tell if it'll be cold without knowing the fill, and how that compares to other brands? I dunno, maybe the fill isn't all that since its 270g must also include a weighty zip. Im interested in the specs: I like the idea of a hoode...

an inexpensive 29er rigid-forked MTB might be a good bet - fitting the Alpkit Confucious bars, which are only £29, might help with hand positions. Cant give you the link because work blocks the website

Both are XC, defo not mud. Gato is slightly more aggressive, I think. If a winter mud tyre is required, I wouldn't bother but go for the Chunky Monkey

Re: Hooped Bivis (That don't weigh a ton)...

I often think that when people think they'd like a hooped bivvy ... what they actually want is a Lunar Solo. Not me, I have a similarly designed tarp-tent. The hooped bivi is that uber-niche shelter between tarp-tent and bivi bag. Plus, the replacement of the now retired lunar solo still hasn't mat...

ive the OR Helium, bought from Richpips on here. I really like it because: 1 light 2 anti-midge net 3 roomy; hoop moves the cover away from your face 4 good water resistance. I don't like: 1 bit of foot-end condensation even with a breeze when the cover is closed 2 cover is in your face when the net...

Five of my road Club pals completed the LWD a fortnight ago. It is road, not gravel. I joined them for the final leg South Queensferry to Coldstream to be a domestique. They completed it in 24 hours on the dot. We* trained by doing 200k, 300k and 400k audaxs in the preceding months, the 300 and 400 ...
