They've changed the checkpoints? I've a train ticket for Inverness indended for this but not bothered about a gravel route. If I was, I would have gone for their xduroScotland ride later in the year

I use Tacx Carbon Assembly Compound when grippage is required. And Park Tool High Performance Grease HPG-1 when carbon-friendly grease is required

Carradice now make one in lighter weight fabric. i don't recall if it is like a Barley, Audax or something else. They have a few one offs currenly on their Ebay store

I joined Duncan on his Tarragona/Bilbao C2C earlier this year, and previously stayed in the area for a roadie holiday. I think it's a perfect base for a gravel, XC/CX or road cycling holiday

Is it really expensive? PHD half bags are about that price. How can one tell if it'll be cold without knowing the fill, and how that compares to other brands? I dunno, maybe the fill isn't all that since its 270g must also include a weighty zip. Im interested in the specs: I like the idea of a hoode...

an inexpensive 29er rigid-forked MTB might be a good bet - fitting the Alpkit Confucious bars, which are only £29, might help with hand positions. Cant give you the link because work blocks the website
