Re: Alpkit Parallax waterproof trousers

I've got some and they've proved tougher (regarding abrasion) than I thought they would and they pack down to bugger all. Having said that I think my madison's with zip off lower legs are a better bet.

Ràpha Brevet bibs are the bee's knees. Ignore the cost and treat yourself. Better still, wait until they have a 20% off or similar promo.

Jay Petervary is out because Lael is being filmed?

The same Jay that used a sail, cadged a lift on a snowmobile and did an ITT TD record attempt while being filmed for a Salsa promo. Great rider and all that but really....

ok, a stupid price

does show an interesting direction garmin is taking in combining a GPS and inReach into the same unit
I find the idea of relying on Garmin for two mission critical tasks terrifying!

Public sector aren't always strangers to wasting money or allocating it in the wrong direction ... no offence but it's just the way the machine works. I spy with my little eye, something beginning with "B". Post 2010 lots of DEFRA staff progressively let go in the name of austerity. Post 2016 lots ...

I have the Madison ones with the zip off legs o you get shorts as well. Wore them for the BB300 and they were as good as you could reasonably expect them to be!

However, I'll eat my words if he does a Gates Foundation kind of thing Don't get me wrong, what Gates is doing now is amazing. I just think Musk deserves the benefit of the doubt on altruistic motives. He's bet his personal fortune on these projects more than once and the hurdles he's got over are ...

One good aspect of all the internet satellites going up is that eventually all the ground based mobile phone masts will become redundant so they could all be taken down. One man has taken his kids out of school in protest about the unknown health risk. The health risks are known, and are pretty muc...

Main thing is to get the right size for your steerer's internal diameter. Beyond that it's just installing an expanding wedge with the appropriate hex key.

20 mins in nav mode with the back light off (obviously you can't extrapolate fully the battery life from this but still, its some news!) And I managed to go through 4% of batt. Am having good feelings and hoping that if I don't use the auto dimming options and draw my route with breadcrumb (no turn...

Re: Wahoo elmnt ROAM -at intervals - review

Kept it on routing mode and it continued to navigate and redraw my line as I missed turns. but we don't use routing mode on events. create a simple GPX (even if only round the block), load that GPX, then follow. turn off re-routing go off the GPX and see what it does Presumably it works the same as...

Re: Wahoo elmnt ROAM -at intervals - review

assuming i am reading your reply correctly; the requirement for internet connectivity for disater recovery (i.e. re-install the route following a hard reset) is a major flaw [i'll be generous and call it a "limitation"]. as is the absence of a microSD slot. far easier to have the route of a microSD...

The air you exhale is only about 5% co2 and a bag like a hunka will never be that well sealed.

I had a rab Bivi bag that completely zipped shut with a 1" mesh strip alongside the zip. Not that I ever zipped it shut as it was awfully claustrophobic.

I can't seem to find the gpx for the One and Two tons of gravel routes that Ian & Matt Page organised. Could anyone send me them or point me towards a download?

Cheers! :-bd

I bought a Regatta waterproof (Yeah, I know. I was surprised too!) from Go Outdoors that has surpassed all my expectations for it's price. Price matched it instore on Regatta's website and got another 10% off. Decent length sleeves, decent hood, doesn't rustle and so on. It's not slinky bike cut, no...

I use Ridewithgps.com with mine. Just create or import a supplied GPX, pin it to your favourites and when you got to "Route" on the device click "Sync" and all your pinned GPX will be downloaded. :-bd
