Re: Spokes and Nipples

The F1 is 2mm-1.7-2mm. Nice and light and makes a nice wheel. Used them to replace the cheap and nasty spokes in an Alpkit wheelset and it transformed them.

Re: Spokes and Nipples

ACI Alpina F1 get my vote. Built a few wheels with these that have taken some abuse and they've been faultless. I'm also a very average wheel builder.

Alpkit tipins with my Deschutes Sean, they work a treat. Handled a couple of good batterings. No need for anything special imo.

Re: Synmat leakage

I had exactly this problem Colin and spent ages looking for leaks. Try inflating the mat as normal, bit of spit on the bung, stick the bung in then twist it a fraction. Works for me. I think Stu had the same problem.

Re: Refilling gas cannisters

Just remember not to overfill. A 100g sized gas canister should weigh about 198g when it's full. I never fill mine to 100% I just make sure there's enough for the trip.

Running a Garmin off a dynamo!

So I have an Etrex 20, a SON hub and a alpkit juice hub, a Nitecore F2 18650 charger and a k-lite usb charger. Is there a knack for running the Etrex directly from the hub without it wanting to revert to the aa power source. The Nitecore charger supposedly allows pass through charging so I figured t...
