Garway Hill is worth a visit if you're heading towards Pontrilas - I first learned about it in the Lost Lanes books.

Re: Black Mtns to Glos via FoD - good/quick routes?

:-bd Any other route between Monmouth and Abergavenny is seriously hilly, and there don't seem to be ANY bridleways at all until you get to the Skirrid.

Were you going to tell James to stop for lunch at the Red Door in Mitchel Troy too?

Re: Black Mtns to Glos via FoD - good/quick routes?

I'd do this - all on tarmac: cycle lane through Gloucester and west to the A48 / A40 which can be followed to Highnam and you could then head for Tibberton and follow quieter lanes to Huntley and on through Blaisdon, Flaxley, Then Cinderford - Cannop - Coleford - Redbrook - Monmouth Then NW through ...

I usually do part or all of an SR series as background noise to my other riding each year I think I do plenty of riding, and a bit of audax, but I aspire to the day I can call an SR "background noise" :-bd What Dyffers hasn't told you is that he's got something like 15 SRs under his...

Re: Drop Bar MTB

Have a read of this: http://www.63xc.com/mattc/midge.htm Lots of great info about setting up flared drops. Worth remembering that the primary position for off-road drops should be on the drops themselves, so you need to get the bars high enough and far enough back to get them where your hands would ...

At best he's unnecessarily confrontational. At worst, he's a misogynistic arsehole.

I wasn't convinced by the video that there was enough evidence to prove that he was right about the Bowman frames. They didn't look great, for sure - but death trap? I dunno.

You only need PD for fast charging. My pixel 6 charges just fine from a 0.5A 5V DC source so you should have no issues with using a dynamo to charge yours.

Re: Salsa El Mariachi frame and forks REDUCED TO £375

I think you'd get 2.4" in the back - I used it with 2.1". Fork is 3" or more.

Standard 73mm BB, no problem fitting a triple - though I only used it as SS or 1x. Has cable routing for front mech.

Re: Salsa El Mariachi frame and forks

I'm only selling it as it's slightly too small and I've just bought another bike that does everything this does slightly better - I don't ride MTBs enough to justify having two so similar... It's still a lovely frame and rides really nicely.

29" - I think you'll get up to 2.4" in the frame. Loads more space in the fork.
