Re: Snow by the end of the month?
On the BBC this morning they ran a piece on the earliest arrival of migrating Swans from Siberia. Previous early arrivals have coincided with cold winters and have been used by farmers for centurys as inicators of bad weather but I think at moment the talk of a cold winter are due too the el nino ef...

Re: alpkit kraku help
Just used pliers on my multi-tool to tighten the stove ever so slightly and so far so good, will have to wait and see if I have to start using force on it in which case then I will have to get in touch with Alpkit.

Re: alpkit kraku help
I started to have problems with a low flame or none at all but have found that it just needs tightening a bit as the canister gets used which on mine seems to have solved the issues.

Re: Bivvying .... ever get unwanted guests?
Better not show this thread to the missus as she has an unhealthy fear of slugs, she can't even look at them so she always brings a bag of salt with us and only comes bivvying/wildcamping with me as i've managed to convince her there is no way a slug would ever be able to crawl on to her face in her...

Re: Alpkit stoves / canister compaitibility
I recently had issues with my Kraku, it had worked fine then it started to have very low pressure. I thought it had run out of gas, anyway I found that it just needed tightening better which was achieved with some pocket pliers. I was using Coleman canisters but have just fitted a jetboil one and ev...

I use a Terra nova laser comp 1 which weighs a bit less than a kg but is a bit of a squeeze with 2 less so if you just use the outer which is what I do. There is a 2 man version though . Even lighter is the Terra nova laser photon. I'm saving up for Cuben fiber job from the States though which works...

Re: Bikepacking the Icknield way/Ridgeway/Wessex Ridgeway
That's handy JS ..I really like how mtb epics have done the guides with the turn by turn instructions and grid refs leaving you to map it yourself.. I've mapped up to Woodhouseaves so far which is just over half of it, might post the gpx when I've finished as I think it could become an ITT !
