Still not 100% convinced - now I've played with bar height, suspension it is certainly better but it doesn't feel quite right

Up for a S wales one - I may even have a new tarp by then! My wife is poorly ATM though - I'm not sure how long she'll be out of action so I may still be tied up with child minding/driving duties

Had this as a leaving present from work a few years ago - I've never used it!
It's still in it's original bag
£50 plus post (or pick up from Cardiff)

As long as we don't end up searching hours up to our knees in bog searching for water and I don't lose my glasses then I'm sure it'll be a good one!

Re: Llanidloes Winter Bivi role call
So who's coming now? The two that were coming with me can't make it but I still plan on being there - my Rab Ladakh winter bag has to get used at least once a year or I think about selling it!

Re: Llanidloes Winter Bivi role call
so who is actually coming?
I should be there - possibly with 1 or 2 others - 1 who's never done anything like this before and the other who's done a few Polaris/KIMM etc

Re: Your ideal shelter?
I'm wondering about this ATM - my army issue tarp is OK but culd be a bit lighter so I've been looking at the options. I thought I'd settled on going for a hooped bivi - the Rab Ridge Raider or the Terra Nova Jupiter but that won't work if I've got my 13yr old with me - he's getting into this bikepa...

Re: 2m x 2m Tarp?
I've been looking for the same thing (though I think I'm now going to buy a hooped bivi instead). I know you said no custom but I was thinking about getting in touch with the bloke on bike and bivi who makes them - his 1.5x2m(ish) tarps seem to be going for @£50 so I can't see a 2x2 costing a great ...

Re: GPS
Cotswold Outdoors have got the Oregon with mapping for £400 I think - and having seen Taylor's this weekend I am tempted - if you end wanting something from there then let me know and I can use the work 20% discount.

I've had a look at the Demand - looks ideal but I've not seen it at a price I can justify for a back up jacket - I may just have to bite the bullet and buy one!

has anyone used a Kinetic? - I usually prefer Paramo kit but I want something that's a bit lighter and takes up leess space for bikepacking - any opinions on it?
