A green one with proper sized wheels, no clown wheels for me! Went mad, and plummeted for a Ala Carte and a Cro Moto Fork, although currently sat with it on suspension fork, I'll swap them about.

After my night on WRT my decision is definently gas from now one, but then again a commited tent user came home and ordered a tarp and a bivvy, so ......................

Cambrian Mountains

Any ideas on best place to start (leave the car), any must sees in the region. Is the Plynlimon plateau worth a visit? Looking at ride, sleep, bag a peak and then ride out. Currently thinking at starting near the dam at Nant-Y-Moch reservoir, as the map shows a car park.

My first campstove was a solid fuel burner that folded out, got it from the Scout shop as a teenager with a army surplus pan. It worked but I think nowadays it isn't worth the hassle with modern stoves being so efficient. I'm definently moving towards the view for most UK mountain trips unless it's ...

I thought the same too, I always thought a Ti bike was for life, at that price for a few tubes! Maybe steel isn't so bad. I'm more inclined to believe that quality of the tubing has gone downhill, wasn't the ti in days gone by and byproduct of the soviet defence program?

I think the groundsheet is the tarp just folded under when pitching. Any ideas on pitching a SilTarp1 from integral Designs, 8' by 5'?

I think it's a necessity unless you have a monster trailer to haul behind your bike and think 129lb is a decent bike weight to pedal around :lol:
