Re: Calder Divide Trail

I saw this pop up elsewhere, so thought i'd pop over and have a look. First question would be, have you ridden this route yet? Theres certain places I wouldnt be sending people, either due to access/ground conditions/conflict with other trail users. Theres quite a few places where a gravel bike woul...

What’s wrong with the exposure bracket?

If your looking to create space you can always use them inverted.

Re: Wtd stooge frame

I have a MK2 bike I’m looking to move on, as I haven’t ridden it in ages and probably won’t, so would good to go somewhere where it will be used.

Re: Anyone ride track?

Been to the velodrome in the past.
It’s good fun for an experience of having to ride fixed and use the banking, but it’s not something that adds appeal for repeat visits.

The BMX though…
That’s been on the list to go for a taster session

Was thinking of heading over to the Newfield Inn in Seathwaite.
Proper old skool boozer

Option to take a short cut back up to Cockley Beck, and head back from there as I dont have 100 miles in my legs at the moment.

It'll be good to see some old faces next weekend.

Having a look at the route, there seems to be a fair amount of road?

What bikes are people taking?
Rigid 29ers or FS?

Someone who I road the Second City with last year is interested in doing the Badger Divide.

A recommendation route or will I be underwhelmed again?

Sold Borah Bivi

Righto... I bought mine back in 2014, and think I’ve used it a handful of times over the years, so it may as well get used by someone else. Digging around in my emails it’s the standard size length/width and is the M90. From memory it’s a waterproof bottom and a water resist/breatheable upper (Black...

Is this the one I gave you?

If it is than pass it on to Tony for free.
Although I’d have thought he’d struggle to fit inside a regular sized one.

Re: Borah bivy or mesh inner for a Gatewood.

Potentially cheeky stealth ad, but I have a Borah Bivi which might be happy to part with. Would have to dig it out and check on the spec, but I haven’t used it for a number of years, and probably won’t so someone else may as well have some enjoyment out of it. Let me have a think about it before any...

Positioning is key to fixing those issues.
It’s about taking the weight out of your arms and having a more relaxed position.

Second hand prises are crazy at the moment. Probably get back what he paid for it. A friend had a 4 year old bike that developed a crack in the frame, which was then replaced under warranty. He built it back up with the intention of selling it as prices on eBay were what he paid for it. For a 4 year...

Extremely rare I’d ever have the need to change a pair of pads once out (if ever)

If I’m going on a big trip I’ll put new ones in and put the part used ones in a box to trickle down to the trail bike.

In an emergency you can squish the split pin with your fingers.

Re: Refilling a smaller gas bottle

Isnt it just equalising the pressure between the 2 bottles? So the first time you do it, it works because the donor bottle is twice the size of the receiver bottle, but after that its going to have a lower effect the next time with the 2 bottles, and so on... So at some point you'll end up with 2 ha...

Re: Topical Article By A Woman Who Bothies Alone

I think that depends on how you treat other people but probably yes, consider whether it is a man or a woman you are talking to and if it's a woman then don't invade their space, be ready to move on if they don't want help. If you are in a bothy make it clear that you will leave the room while they...
