Glad to hear you're on the mend Jimmy. I keep forgetting you're East Lothian - fancy a joint bivvi in May? You can show me round a bit.

https://i.postimg.cc/RVCxyHyQ/PXL-20240420-211845507-2.jpg A quick overnighter to a spot I camped at with a mate for his birthday last year. He sadly died at the start of this month after a fall in the hills near Crianlarich. The funeral is on Friday, so I took the tent to work on his eulogy. So ma...

Got meself a slug plug repair kit which will hopefully deal with most issues. If it comes to popping in an inner tube, that's a problem for future me. Will be sure to let you know how it goes.

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Thanks Shaf, good advice. I've been avoiding tubeless for years and got away with it, but four punctures in as many months decided me.
Presumably you have to give the bike a run/tyres a spin regularly?

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
Nice one Jimmy. I was at the Museum of Flight today for the first time, getting my ear bent about Concorde. Beautiful plane. I've been looking at hillforts and castles around there so might poach a night in your manor soon. Sorry to hear you're out of it Dave - shame the night in the YHA doesn't cou...

Re: Supertramp 2024: A Challenge
Talk about upping the ante; I'm still counting hours, not days. Maybe once the kids are a bit older - not even sure I could get away with two nights at this point. Loving the concept though and sounds like a few are well on the way there already.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
I learned a new word today - sapid.
Definitions from Oxford Languages
adjective
having a strong, pleasant taste.
"sapid nut bread"
(of talk or writing) pleasant or interesting.
Which was nice.

Might try that. Over 8 hours the other night the mat needed reinflating 3 times. Patched a small hole before but either it didn't work or there's another. Grr.

Is that the subway at the back of Edinburgh park? I vaguely recall trying to get into that years ago when I lived in South gyle but it was firmly barriered off.... Nope, but will keep that in mind. This was under the slip road where the A68 peels off the bypass. Underpass kipping - another original...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
Couple of busy weekends coming up so snuck out last night for an easy one half an hour from home that was guaranteed to be dry, and flat. https://i.postimg.cc/J7ZntMgC/PXL-20240309-224518925-NIGHT.jpg Found a way under the bypass last year and noted at the time how quiet it was. There was a buzzing ...

Re: Proposed Wind Farm near Glaslyn
While we're taking quotes out of context. Selfishly speaking I'd rather this particular place is left alone as a remote wilderness. I like the idea of it as mid-ride pub. As for nuclear power stations, I was confused to find the Scottish Green Party were against them when I joined. Then I learned th...

Cheers. You can't see them in the photo but there were a couple of broken and abandoned panniers which I was investigating. Had headphones in so didn't hear these guys approaching and probably entirely innocent. Still no idea where they went though as there's a slight corner and then a long straight...

Thanks for the offer Phil. I've got a straight steerer carbon fork the now; it was the mounts I was coveting. My bodged solution seems to be working OK.
