Rebellion way -first trip!

Planning on doing rebellion way in Norfolk over Easter.
Will be my first trip and warm up for WRT!

Might be pushing it but plan to do in 3 days.

If anyone has done it would welcome some tips and in particular any wild camping suggestions around the 110 and 220k mark.

Re: WRT 2023 Sold Out?

Oh no! I was really hoping to do it with the lonely hearts group. Didn’t realise there was a risk of selling out.
Is there a reserve list or something I can join in case someone can’t make it?

Re: Trousers for wearing post cycling on bikepacking

Anyway, poor old Rock. Came and asked a perfectly civil question and we've done a classic BBB digression. Has this helped even remotely, Rock? Seems the consensus is dinnae bother at all? Although point taken re cultural sensitivities perhaps. [/quote] Yeah it has helped, I think! Although mainly to...

Sorry, another though what what about on your feet as well? Presumably would be good to have some dry footwear?
Think I might need a trailer at this rate!

Trousers for wearing post cycling on bikepacking

Bit of a specific q this one but trying to sort out my kit for first trip. What trousers do people take to wear once finished cycling? Preferably after some that are light but acceptable to be seen in public in (ie pub for dinner?). Thinking my hiking trousers but think may be a bit bulky but not su...

Kit list for first bikepacking trip

Apologies where I'm sure this has been asked hundred times before but hard to narrow down the search. I'm planning on doing my very first bikepacking trip at Easter - 2/3 days doing the Rebellion way with wild camping (or if I get too scared by that, camp site!) Plan is to do it with bags (and poss ...

Re: Tent and sleeping bag recommendations

I'm assuming the Decathlon one pitches inner first? Soloist seems to have lots of fans but none that you've linked to are what I'd call 'roomy'. A bit better than a damp coffin I'll grant you but no real fun to spend much time inside. Yeah it is inner first which I’m not crazy about. At moment I’m ...

Well, definitely not going for olpro one now Stumbled across this one which is lighter but still roomy, worryingly few reviews though! https://www.snowleader.co.uk/sintesi-2-olive-green-FERR00246.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KCQiArsefBhCbARIsAP98hXS29xzoCVjkFrjPP1F225igLX-D...

Re: Tent and sleeping bag recommendations

Thanks, just coming back on couple qs from that. Yes it is just for me but I like the idea of bit more space than the coffin type 1 person ones but guess that results in more weight. Other thing I liked about olpro one is you pitch outer canvas first which is always my preferred type as better when ...

Tent and sleeping bag recommendations

Hi Looking to invest in new tent and sleeping bag to finally start my bikepacking adventures! Currently thinking about olpro voyager as seems decent value at £120. https://olproshop.com/voyager-lightweight-2-person-tent/ Appreciate any thoughts on it and if better alternatives at that sort of price....

Re: Diesel Heater For A Van Question.

I had a chinese version but it never worked consistently, although I think that was as much due to the installation as the kit. That's part of the problem, if you choose a Chinese version then the fitters tend to be less reputable and there is more of a risk. If you have skills to fit yourself then ...

Re: Too much stuff

I can definitely relate. Bike wise I’ve bought a lot of bike packing stuff this year but not actually ventured out and used any of it! Even bought new clothing kit for gravel bike which I don’t really need a have road and mtb stuff that would’ve done. Ironically I’ve read a book on minimalism and ha...

I’m contemplating entering this next year. Plan would be to do the gravel blue on my boardman 8.9 adv gravel bike. Anyone do it last year and able to share some experience? I’m new to all this but hoping entering now will give me the inspiration to get out a lot next year Also contemplating going up...
