Re: Shoe dryers?

Ive got one that has 8 prongs (4 pairs of shoes) and it works a treat but I also bought a plug in countdown timer so I can switch it on and forget about it and it doesn't continue costing money. Our's only cost about £35-40 though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZQJVQ3C/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_RDGbFb...

Re: OT: big family tent recommendations

Got just the tent for you then, a Sahara 6. Used twice. Bought the carpet to go with it, I'll chuck that in too. As far as I remember it's in mint condition except for one pole that's a different colour. Happily let it go for 200 groats, we've got another tent that gets all the use so this is just t...

WTD pair of Shimano disc brakes

The wifes brakes are leaking slightly whatever I do to try and repair them so she has squealy nosies all the time so I thought I'd just change them now as I'm fed up with them.
If nobody's got any, does anybody know of a good deal at the moment?

The skinners are very average.
If you sleep in them, expect the bottom of your sleeping bag to be full of rubber crumble in the morning.
Not particularly warm either.
I got mine via kickstarter and paid ~£25

Re: Today’s (unusual) aircraft

We've had loads near Bristol since lockdown. A400m's on a regular basis with a few C17's all doing touch and go's at Bristol airport, a couple of Hercules, loads of Merlin's and a few wildcats. Two typhoons on VE day. The ones that surprised me the most were the RAF voyager's on a twice weekly airbr...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Seems this is an offer limited to UK residents, not sure that this is legal but the price of an 830 increased from £239 to €400 when I put in my account details. I have an account with Garmin UK and have recently (in the last 3 weeks) ordered from them and paid in euros. They also increased the ord...

The lock picking lawyer is frighteningly quick although when you understand how various locks work is quite simple too defeat them.

How much do you want for the bottles, I've just found loads of seam sealer earlier this week so I don't need that?

Re: Is There Such a Thing ar a Decent, Lightweight Combination Lock?

When doing something like WRT I don't bother with any lock as I'm normally trundling along with a small group. If I'm riding solo I have a retrak alarm padlock that I think I picked up from PC world but by the looks of it they've stopped production. This is very similar, it won't stop a thief but it...

Re: Hammock underquilt advise please

Even in summer you'll need some sort of under insulation. If you want a quilt the DD one is good but big and bulky then you get into the realms of Gucci down. Might be worth trying it with a foam mat first too see if you like hammocks first. Some sort of evazote/ closed cell foam. What's your budget?

Pretty much what Tim says^^^^^
I had a Hennessey as my first hammock then got all Gucci and spent far too much.
It's all trial and error but when you find your sweet spot make a note of it and try the same again another night.
There's no right way for everybody just a right way for you.
