I have some 5:10's which are good for hike a bike right balance of stiffness and walkability
Also pearl izumi better for walking not as stiff
Use some lakes in winter which are great but hold water

Re: Stoves and dry ground…
Ahh OK. I've always burnt it on the basis that leaving paper in a hole seems a bit anathema. Oh well, I'll know next time! Proper loo paper is designed to break up in water quite quickly to avoid sewer blockages, anything else will be more resilient up to the extreme of the older type of wet wipes ...

The gas can would be cooling as the gas is used
Stoves where the heat is in direct contact with the ground are the issue, it's a matter of being sensible, disposable barbecue and glass bottles are the main issues out

Re: Lochan na h-Earba pump storage hydro scheme
There are plenty of solutions to power generation which could be spread across the country, increasing generating resilience and massively reducing transmission distance, losses, costs and environmental impact. The bunch of muppets in Westminster are too stupid to push something like that through t...

Re: new tent for a tall wide person ?
i think i need to look at other options Durston x dome 1+ It's noticeably more spacious and head room is higher than the microlight Could do a side by side pic. The microlight is an easier pitch but the x dome has a lot more usable space, mine is one of the first run and they reissued the poles, wi...

Re: non tubeless to tubeless........ help

Taping depends on the tyre and rim interface so you may need a couple of attempts. Having a tubeless inflator helps a lot to get the ty...

I would suggest lands end to John o'groats or visa versa Doesn't matter how you do it For a couple of years running I stayed in a youth hostel where a solo lady (same both times) passed through doing it (and then a few more miles joined by an aged parent) seemed like an annual pilgrimage for her Did...

Re: Seatpack for tall people
Just to highlight the aeroe rack does just fine on rough singletrack. Also means you can run a dropper unimpeded, which may aid when it gets steepam not after a rack. I like rough singletrack.
But more than one way to skin the cat

Re: new tent for a tall wide person ?
I think Ton may have rose tinted glasses on the space in the microlight, I am big but not Ton big and I find the inner comes in noticeably when using a thick mat, sitting height isn't amazing either
However it a joy to put up and rock solid
