Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness by Peter Godfrey-Smith. Absolutely fascinating. Apparently octopus have neurons throughout their legs and arms. I can't remember if he actually called it a second brain but he did say that tests have shown that they can operate...

Hi. My name is Shafiq and I am a missed-the-BAM-again-oholic. Next time (if I'm still alive) I will: *Start in January. *Head out at the start of the months. *Not think about luxurious BAM plans and keep em simple. *Take more cold showers! All the best everyone and it's been nice whilst it lasted :...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Mrs G and I spent last week in a cottage up north at Cragganmore, right next to the Speyside Way, etc, etc. Very pretty camp! I've not bivvied in proper rain yet but it was enough that I doubt I'd sleep. I'm planning on making a bivvy that raises the fabric off my face. Do you have any thoughts or ...

Mrs G and I spent last week in a cottage up north at Cragganmore, right next to the Speyside Way. The weather was better than predicted and I managed to get four days out on the bike. On one of those days I rode north on the Way as far as Craigellachie, exploring left and right from there as I went...

I returned safely late last night from the Peak District following lots of wedding type things. My favourite part of which was a quote from the brides fathers speech. He was present at the birth of his grandson (my nephew had covid and couldn't attend) and he described looking down onto his daughte...

The wind kept blowing out the tablet before I could protect it. I had to use my friends gas burner to light it and then resorted to building a windshield out of stove bits. I was well past caring by this point

A friend of mine has recently had massive health problems and spent about nine months in hospital. He's been on bikes all his life. He got an e-bike so he could begin building his fitness again. He told me that he can get out with 'normal' bikes and keep up or get knackered if he wants a work out. I...

Thanks whitestone. I was bracing myself for 30% so that's in the ballpark. Did you find the gear as advertised? Happy to buy from there again? So far I've only purchased from profabrics.co.uk. It's been good to practice my sewing but when compared to international sites such as https://www.extremtex...
