Thanks, but 175mm is going to be too long for me. I'm struggling to find anything new or used in 165 in a 1x, so may need to go to 170

Wtd: 1x crankset

After a 1x gravel crankset, ideally 165mm cranks. And must be able to take a 34 or max 36 tooth chainring.
Anyone?

Re: Ultralight Chairs....

I ordered this one: https://www.sportpursuit.com/catalog/pr ... id/3990615
It arrived today, and have to say I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's comfortable, light, and easy to put together. The first test is next week.

Re: Ultralight Chairs....

To be honest, I will most likely only take it when I go with my son. He's only 3.5, so there is a lot of stuff and a lot of weight anyway, so what's another kilo or so. I found one on sport pursuit for £30, so giving it a punt.

Ultralight Chairs....

Not exactly barebones, but it might be nice to have somewhere to sit of an evening. Does anyone use an ultralight chair? If so, how do you find it? Do you recommend any particular one?

Re: Packing kit on forks, alternative methods and ideas?

I've used the planet x fork packs mounted with zip ties previously, but I wasn't too happy about it. I now have an Old Man Mountain axle pack (https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/carriers-racks/old-man-mountain-axle-pack/) for my forks- pricey for what it is as you need the specific fit kit for your fork. Re: Front Bar Cradle

Before moving over to the Tailfin bar bag, I used a handlebar extender bought off Amazon for about £10. I mounted it below my handlebars and it just pushed the bag up and off my front wheel.

I have a15" giant atx 27.5 frame if that's suitable? What width wheels would this take pls Rivers. Only cos the 650b wheels I have saved to go on his bike as about 40mm wide. Don’t want to be having to go find more rims to build for it. Thanks, and any pics would be great (as well as price, po...

I've got a vango trek pro 3 compact sleeping mat going spare, and possibly a few other bits if you're interested. It's not the lightest, but pretty comfy.

Wanted: Blue Sleeping Mat/Pad

My son is after a blue sleeping pad/mat to match his pillow (he's 3). So I said I would look for one. So does anyone have a blue sleeping mat/pad with an R value of at least 4 kicking about they no longer use? I'm not worried about self-inflating vs inflatable and I'm not too worried about weight. A...

I've used several pirelli tyres and never had an issue tbh.

Re: 700x40c gravel tyre recommends

Pirelli Cinturato Ms are my go to gravel tyre. I've been running them for 3 years without issue and barely look worn. Good for everything but the thickest of mud as well. And roll pretty well on the road as well.

I enjoy Keep Smiling Adventures and Juliett Elliot's channel, and tend to watch most of their videos. I enjoy when GCN and GMBN do their bikepacking videos as well.
I occasionally watch Path Less Pedalled and Cycling 366.

Sleeping bags and mat

I will shortly have a new sleeping bag on the way,so I have a few of my old one's for sale. Selling a few bits: Vango trek pro 3 compact £20- maybe 10 nights use. Originally bought it when I started taking my son bikepacking so we were on the same mat. Now that he's older, I'm back to using my therm...

Re: FS: Tundra Pure -5 sleeping bag

Thanks Shaf- to be honest, the only sleeping I own that isn't too long for me is a youth -6 degree bag I bought about 15 years ago. It's an absolutely brilliant bag (and warm), but it's synthetic and does not pack down small. Max height is 5'3" and I'm 5'2", so it really is a good size. Al...

Re: Panniers - big, cheap but not terrible

BTW, the Altura Vortex looks really good (and cheap). It'll be lighter than the LOMO I imagine but I agree that they are tough (LOMO). My first set of bikepacking bags were the original Altura Vortex bags- they were good value for money and well constructed. I would recommend if you need something ...
