Re: 3 questions please? Trail spd pedals/Brand X play & servicing/uphil trail optimal tyre width?

I hope it's OK to jump in on this.... A reliable dropper post, that will manage a bag at times... I have broken a few, then tried a second hand (!) reverb... and after a small period it has developed some squish. And reading about this now appears to generally be unreliable. Does the BrandX come rec...

https://bikepackingbuds.com/

Heard good things from people new to this... are on social media so lots of info there.
I think people can post their planned trips and you can join/work it out yourself
Pannier used to run trips iirc

Re: Dales Divide

It's a good route, but I think I would have bailed if it had been wet. A bit of bog (nothing compared to HT550/Scotland), but quite a bit of field which would have been too much in the rain/mud. It was mostly dry and hard under tyre - I did it on a hardtail with 2.1 tyres, with that aesthetic abomin...

Re: Dales Divide

I'm in for this... Probably the shorter route due to work on Monday night - compounded after now I've looked at the (long range) weather forecast on the met office site....

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th

You rode pretty well, past me walking up around hound tor .... I had to stop and 'admire the sign'.... IMO recovery after such a long hard ride like GBDURO is super patchy, and annoyingly unpredictable, sometimes climbers legs, sometimes jelly... But then comes a period of superhero strength and it'...

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th

Lovely photo - turned into a lovely morning. I got in around 6.30, and moved off to sleep in an industrial estate in Exeter.... Thanks for the updated route - will update and might be up for it as another group start after Winter.... ? I didn't make the usual BB200 this year, but have got a slot in ...

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th

Thank you Lone Ranger, Paul and Roobell - what a good idea, and you all spurred me on to ride through the night. I thought I was about to see one of you at Chagford this morning, but never came to be. A great route, and the timings/route work well for a ride through the night. With a 9am start and g...

I'm planning a bit of an ITT, so will try and ride as much of the night as I can. Looking forward to it

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th

Great, 9am works well for me, and this looks like a superb route (and appreciate the fp variation, if required)

I'm assuming the advice in the above post for camping would also apply to leaving a vehicle?

Looking forward to it

Re: Dartmoor 200. September 18th

Hi
I'm fairly new to this forum and have been lurking on this thread.
Now I know I can make the the weekend, I'd love to join you from the 18th - and meet some of you too.
Similar to Asposium, likely drive Friday night, and have to in London for Monday afternoon...
Cheers
