Want what you've got, enjoy what you're doing That does sound like contentment  I agree, there's nothing wrong with having dreams, ambition or goals. I suppose my point was really that many people seem to see possession and purchase as the way to achieve it. Perhaps as you say, the fear of mi...

Have you got bottom mounts on the frame Matt? Would you like me to make you up some longer support struts? Just need an idea of length and the OD.

I thought there was some sort of agreement with the wider BB community about you doing a big route on that yellow beast Stu - are you planning a big farewell trip before finding it a new home? There kind of is Al ... but don't worry, I have a 20" wheeled single speed fold up shopper in the bar...

Speedy recovery Bob - should I send Reg over to patch you up?
I'm just welding up the frame on project 'Land Speed Racer' ... (really must get a catchier name for that) .... and it's stopped raining.

Re: Norm's barn clear-out PART 1
Hello Stu - curious about the wheel. Is there much sealing on the hub? The bearings are shielded but don't have what I'd describe as true seals Al. I'd avoid dragging it through rivers and probably better to consider it a gravel wheel rather than a mountainbike one. The good news is, you'd not know...

In more exciting news - I was pondering whether I could shave any more weight off this thing and have achieved a further reduction of 14g, so we're now down to 34g and I'm reckoning there might be another 4 to come .... way and indeed hey.

Re: Where the bridleway ends...
Don't know about the Jennride but anything here attracts a pretty high percentage of old gitsits not just all old farts

EDIT to add ... thinking about it, I'd guess that on the average WRT, only 5% of riders are below the age of 30 and I reckon 90% are over 40.

Re: Where the bridleway ends...
I'm sure. No doubt since the very first morning CyB opened its gates. I just wondered whether 'trail riding' was now the mainstay of mountain biking / off-road cycling and those of us who still pound the hills are getting less and less?I think the natural v trail riders has existed for a while

Re: Where the bridleway ends...
As much as I can rarely see why a bike can't or even shouldn't be ridden with care down a fp, I'm also somewhat torn on the subject ... my wish like many is that one day, we might have the same RoW access as Colin and Phil enjoy and taunt us with. However, there will always be a surprisingly large n...

That was my belief too.I thought bikes were classed as "reasonable accompaniments" or at least had not been proven to not be (sorry for the tautology).

I believe (but could be wrong) that it is legal to continue if you push your bike. I recall something to do with 'an aid to walking' ie a pushed bike is no different to a pushchair or pair of sticks.
