Re: The end of gas stoves: a genuinely new approach to boiling water?

Ooh, gotta say that I've got mixed feelings. It's clever but adding a fan to a wood stove isn't new. Secondly, you're reliant on a power source and a means to charge it which just seems like one more thing to break, lose or simply have to think about - the absolute simplicity of a wood stove is its ...

There's a site we've stayed at above the cliffs and right on the coast path. I'll get the details off her who knows stuff.

Re: Campsite reccomendations this bank holiday

I vote for somewhere on the Pembrokeshire coast. I like St Davids and surrounding but I don't think there's a station.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

https://cyclorise.com/pages/ochain I'm forever amazed at the **** that people come up with to solve non-problems.... And a snip at £300 So it's basically a 'cush drive'? I'm reckoning that there's only a small amount of movement available, so while the benefits listed would in theory be correct (de...

Re: Things that have recently annoyed me

I tend to believe that for some reason, cyclists have largely replaced bikers as the motorists enemy. If a car hit you in the 80's then it was your own fault for choosing to ride a motorbike and therefor being a scumbag.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Talking of streams and suchlike, is yours still flowing OK Stu? I guess it has quite a good catchment. Bit of lead in it though?
Stream? Surely you mean the mighty Afon Fachdre? Obviously it's not high Reg but I have seen it lower. Reservoirs are very low though, not quite 2018 low but low.

The Monty Python Lunberjack Championships?
Maybe Bob, I know there'll be boxing (with great big gloves). I'll admit, for someone who doesn't really do excitement, I'm quite excited.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

At the start of March 2020 I was lucky enough to get hold of a ticket for an event that's very hard to get a ticket for ... then we all know what happened don't we. Well, today is the day that I finally get to go. Death-trap and myself will be meandering our way down to Usk in the sunshine, stopping...

I'd get the train to Buxton and either get off at Chapel or Dove Holes. Lots of options from either station.

Re: Great British Divide

While I agree that 'the day in court' may come, if the letter of the law is strictly followed, then I'd estimate that about 80% of cycling events that take place off-road are technically illegal. That would include some big well know events that have major backing and even some supported by UK cycli...

^^ My son has an annoying neighbour called Gordon - The temptation to get the lad to add this to his Spotify playlist has so far been thwarted.
Life's too short not to.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

I've just had some of Dee's freshly picked green beans for tea Bob and I'm now pretty convinced many people would eat better if their veg wasn't wrapped in plastic then sat in a warehouse for a couple of weeks ... these were lovely.

It's not even a very good copy of the original (and best) MLD Trailstar. Very different from a TS - I'm not sure it's meant to be similar. On Aug 4th 1978, this was released by EMI ... here we go 2, 3, 4. They also appear to have their own version of Bez.
