In other, not cheery, news, I heard they were closing the Welshpool base of Air Ambulance, combining it with Caernarvon, and basing it somewhere on the north coast instead. Rumour or......?

I will also suggest Lomo. Long, thin and very tough ... obviously a bit heavier though.

Move south a little here Shaf. Plenty of off road tracks over the mountains. Some may not be 100% legal RoW but they're well used by bikes.

There seems to be a well organised guerrilla group helping with reintroductions hence beavers being found in places where they haven't been officially reintroduced

Keep with your single bottle and buy a filter. Also, consider carrying a bladder which can be filled up just prior to stopping for the night.

Water's heavy, think of ways to carry as little as you can. :wink:
