I've purposely painted this without using any 'special' equipment in the hope of showing this very thing. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9mXO0XnR2OxdxU-yyVzh6iddh1c0sGeD5Iniasw0RUj-4dhRaZjtp3-gSIcDP6wl...

No longer an owner but I thought mine was fantastic. No drastic changes but things like tyres, gearing were altered and the bars were an ever-changing thing. Should be some write ups on the News / Reviews section.

What's - not too expensive? That'll always be the bug-bear when trying to satisfy the other criteria.

Re: MYOGLL - recommend me some metal filler?

As Phil says, JB weld is generally considered very good and is still available.

Devcon Plastic Steel is perhaps the strongest of all but very expensive. Also, are you able to screw something to the pedal to act as reinforcement - some long grub screws maybe?

Re: BB200 2024

Shortly after last year, we made the decision to (a) only have one rather than two events and (b) give priority to entrants with a history of competing (but not always completing). The reasons are that, last year we got a considerable number of inquiries from people who by their own admission had ve...

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?

I think I'd be looking for a down quilt or even blanket. That's likely to provide the most warmth for minimum weight and packsize.

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?

I reckon at 6'4", 500g for something '2 season' is probably too much of an ask. As you've already kind of discovered, 500g is really the realm of one or two weeks of high summer ... especially true of a synthetic bag.

Re: Replacing a section of DAC featherlite NSL pole..

Can't interchange DAC sections of different types, sadly. When I've been pushed, I've bought spare OEX pole sets and used the various sections to produce something new. The quality isn't quite DAC but it's not bad and the price is considerably less. Also note, since Brexit Extreme no longer deal wit...

Free: Ladies OutDry jacket

Dee has a Columbia Outdry jacket which she no longer wants. It's medium and red but there is a catch. Despite looking like new, it appears to be somewhat less waterproof than other Outdry jackets. She contacted Columbia and they suggested giving it a coat of DWR treatment ... seemed odd given that O...

Re: Technical Descending

Might help, might not  It's about the ability to pivot around the BB - hence maintaining a loose / relaxed grip, not holding the saddle with your knees and most certainly not sitting down. All those things 'lock' you to the bike and prevent relative movement between you and it. Aim to remain s...

Re: Technical Descending

Contrary to Stu's advice I would say that sitting on the rear wheel is a way of dealing with the steep stuff. The thing you need to remember Phil is that a weight shift still occurs. However, it's controlled by the bike reacting to the terrain. That has the benefit of it been dynamic which has a bi...

Re: Technical Descending

I was a coach for 10 years and donning my coach hat, I'd say some key points are thus: 1 / Learn to look further ahead. Doing so will reduce your perception of speed, give you more time to look for a better line and braking areas. 2 / Stand up and centre your weight on the pedals, aim to keep them l...
