Re: Dry bags, name starts with M?
Cheers Pete ... however I'm slightly drawn to these lomo ones if they're as hardwearing as folk say. They're for going into a set of Anything cages and in the past (due to poor packing and lazyness mainly) I've worn the odd hole in some others.

Dry bags, name starts with M?
Sorry about this but what's the name of the company that produces dry bags ... I've seen a few folk using them and I'm sure the name starts with an M, although I could be wrong.
Anyone?

Winter sleeping bag ... suggestions please.
I'm considering a new sleeping bag for this coming winter. Something with a comfort (not extreme) rating down to around -10 would be nice as would not requiring a second mortgage to buy one.

Re: I've gone soft!
Needs must I suppose but the thought of spending the following day smelling like a 'nodder' somehow doesn't appeal ... think I'll stick to my new, less latexy pillow
I've just seen the irony in a post entitled, 'I've gone soft' that mentions condoms :D

Re: Good Book
Just finished reading my copy last night. It's a good read, well worth tracking a copy down whether you're interested in the TD or not.
Trouble is, it sort of makes the TD sound a little too appealing

DNF I can't really help with your pack choice as I do my best to avoid the things but I'm interested as to why you're ditching having something on your bars in favour of something on your back?

Re: Thermolite Reactor
I've got one of the extreme, super dooper versions. Does seem to work well, I imagine in the right conditions you could use it without a sleeping bag. There's certainly plenty of room in it even for a big lad/lass.

Re: Packs
The only problem I've found with Wingnuts is when you're walking. If the side 'wings' are full they can catch on your arms ... they're also really designed to be worn with the shoulder straps slightly lose and all the weight supported on your hips, so they can feel a bit low when off the bike. Super...

FOM you haven't got the 10th/11th of Sep free have you? If you fancy a run down to the green hills of Wales there'll be a 2 day, 80 odd mile trip starting from Rhayader ... can't guarantee good weather but I can guarantee good company

Yep SSUK possibly ... nowt set in stone but at present there's nothing booked in for the previous week.
Any info you've got with regard to a route would be great Matt ... and I never feel like racing which is lucky considering it's SSUK

Mid Wales to Sussex?
Anyone got any vague idea just how long it might take to ride from mid Wales to Sussex ... I know it all depends on many factors hence the vague bit.
Also, any ideas about possible routes that might be worth considering?

PSA: Wild Country tents.
Might be of interest to someone if you're in the market for a quality solo tent. From what I can tell it's a new model so I don't know much about it ... doesn't look a million miles away from certain TN offerings.

Lets Pretend ... Dream Kit.
I know I'm not alone when it comes to lusting after certain bits of kit, many of which won't ever become a reality as the cost can't easily/really be justified ... no matter how hard you try ;) A few items that fit in to this catogary at present would be a, Crux Torpedo sleeping bag, a BearPaw desig...

Someting along the same lines as the bivvy above. This one offers a touch more room but is a little heavier at 290g as it comes with an Easton pole ... cheaper though at around £44.
