Re: Silly Ideas...

I'm happy to be old enough to remember a time when there was no 'grid'. I actually have a degree of sympathy, maybe even pity for those who've only ever known modern communication.

Re: Acepac - for them that were asking.

Are you going to do the small under saddle top tube pack you can see in the saddle bag pic too? Been thinking about one of them for a while. No plans to. I have one here but they just seem too small to be of much real use - however, that's just my opinion and I'm often outnumbered when it comes to ...

Acepac - for them that were asking.

A while coming but Acepac luggage is now available int' shop. It's all made from Cordura Ecomade, a material produced from recycled plastic bottles but please don't let that put you off, it's waterproof and very tough. Anyway, if you want a look ... https://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/shop/?product_c...

Re: Silnylon or Silpoly

I'm not aware of any major issues that folk are having with Silnylon so I'd personally go for that as being lighter.
The nylon's heavier.
so I will just go for the lighter one when it comes in stock
That'll be the poly ... I'd probably go for the nylon version being that it's 40d rather than 20d.

Re: Silnylon or Silpoly

There will be many variations in each piece of material but generally - nylon is stronger than polyester. Polyester absorbs less water than nylon. Polyester has less 'stretch' than nylon. Polyester has a better UV resistance than nylon. Don't view stretch as an overly bad thing as it often allows fo...

Re: Silly Ideas...

I don't think it even need be an entire trip or event that's silly, simply adding a potentially silly idea, detour or whatever to a more 'normal' ride can alter the entire thing. You may look back and remember that you were cold / wet / hungry / tired but there's no pain attached, they're just thoug...

Bear Bones Morphs (buffs).

I've just found a box of these ... thermal Morphs. Double layer so much bigger / warmer than your standard buff. Very bright - be seen, be safe and always have the ability to signal passing ships or planes. Transforms into numerous types of head / face / neck wear - even a seductive mini dress. Flee...

Very true Stu - a fear of failure generally results in never trying. If you don't try, you'll never know what you're capable of. Life might be 'safe' but it'll be mind numbingly dull and unrewarding.
