Re: Rigid to soft...tyre width Q
I recently swapped out the rigid forks on my Titus for some 100mm Reba RLs. I'll be honest in that they haven't been quite as 'plush' as I'd hoped, but maybe I haven't got them set up quite right. The clearance also seems quite tight with a 2.6" Mezcal. Latest plan is to put the Silk Road back ...

Re: Swapping out rigid & suspension forks...?
@Hyppy - how do you rate the reba's? They do the job nicely. I'm no suspension aficionado though, so couldn't tell you what I miss out on from more expensive options. My choice was largely weight-based, and I couldn't justify the few hundred quid more to save a few hundred grams by going with SIDs....

Re: Swapping out rigid & suspension forks...?
Thanks for the replies all. I was originally going to a Huntsman from PX when on offer a month or so ago, to add a MTB to the stable, but couldn't justify the cost (though did look to be a bargain). Therefore thoughts turned to converting the 29er to a bouncy hardtail. It may be partly scratching an...

Swapping out rigid & suspension forks...?
Have been been thinking about some 100mm suspension forks for my rigid Silk Road 29er, with the idea that I'd swap out for hardtail play days in the woods, and rougher routes. TBF I'd been waiting for a short Redshift stem to come along, but they're still not released yet. Does anyone swap forks reg...

Re: Newbie bikepacking tent advice
I just picked up a Lanshan 1 "copy" from Nightcat. Lots of reviews on YouTube. Again, it's a (single) trekking pole tent, but I use a 125cm carbon pole for it. Got it for a little over £100 as they had a 20% discount offer. Site was Chinese-based but the tent arrived only 2 days later from...

PSA On One Huntsman GX Eagle £899
Is this a good deal? Not had a MTB for years and was hankering for a singlespeed (has sliding dropouts), this says clearance for 2.8 29er tyres and kitted out with GX Eagle and RockShox 35 Gold RL DebonAir 29" BOOST Fork. Any good for £899‽ ...with a dropper post and delivery just over a grand...

@voodoo_simon. Agree about a bottle being too wide (though have successfully fitted a small tool keg in a bottle cage with a Wolftooth off centre adaptor). Re: PlanetX going bust?
Yep, real shame. Love my Ti Silk Road, and had some small forks bags & cages when cheap, all very functional and keenly priced. Still smarts a bit that they did the Silk Road for under a grand not so long ago, as paid a bit more than that...you have to wonder how much the yo yo pricing might hav...

@yourguitarhero Glad you like it. Do you mind me asking how much it cost all in (poles, delivery, import charges)? My son's currently working in Banff and planning to come back home for a few weeks in September. With Durstan being a Canadian outfit I thought he might be able to bring one back for me...
