Re: WTD: Frame/frameset for SS MTB (Inbred, 456, Unit etc)

I have a cotic simple in "builders tea" colour. It is a small though so 16 or 17 inch. When built up look like a burly BMX. So not very bikepacky unless for a kid and you carry everything. Let me know and I'll dig out from the store and can send some pics. Ah, it's you! Spoke to you about...

Re: Genesis IO single speed

Shame this, lovely bike and just the kind of build I want to do. If it was just the frameset I'd buy it - it's the fun of the build I'm after more than the bike itself!

WTD: Frame/frameset for SS MTB (Inbred, 456, Unit etc)

Looking for a frame or frameset for a single speed hack rigid MTB build, budget-friendly, disc brakes, around the 18" mark. Thinking most likely an On-One Inbred/456, but a Kona Unit or similar would be cool too. Steel preferred. Just putting feelers out, these things are becoming harder to fin...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

If anyone's after a pub bike or commuter Wiggle have got the Vitus Dee Nexus City on sale for £280. I paid £100 more about a year ago and couldn't be more chuffed with it. Most bike for your money available right now, hands down, if you want a city basher. Nexus Inter 3 is agricultural but perfect r...

SOLD Vittoria Terreno 29 x 2.25 G TNT tyre

Brand new, not G2.0 but the previous 'G' graphene compound, tubeless ready, grey sidewall, folding bead. It's this, exactly: (not my listing, just for demonstration): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265380726863?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28 Call it £25 plus post? Or not, we can work something out. Sel...

FS: Thule 2-bike carrier (rear/boot mount)

Thule 9106 ClipOn High carrier, takes 2 (heavy) bikes with ease, absolutely rock-solid and stable. Nothing wobbling about even on the motorway at high speeds. Only used a few times, sold my car, so selling this too. Mounts high, which is useful for not obscuring tail lights and plates. Great used co...

Re: The post man's been ...

A pair of "Menora" 4 pot brakes from AliExpress. Essentially rebadged Clarks M4s which are totally unavailable anywhere - even asked Clarks themselves who have none. These seem totally spot on and were £41 for the pair, delivered from China in a week. They're even right hand front/left ha...

Re: Custom frame bag recommendations

Yes, I've seen that, it's a tempting option. At the moment I think I'm leaning towards Beerbabe actually - I like the idea of having a piece of affordable gear that's not Alpkit (!) and fully custom made out of recycled stuff. Given the reviews and apparent quality of the product, £80 seems like a ...

Re: Custom frame bag recommendations

Both of those options look fantastic. If I wasn't restricted to the cheaper end of things I'd definitely consider them. As it is, £100 looks like my absolute upper limit and I'd rather spend less. Thanks both though.

Custom frame bag recommendations

Looking into a custom full-frame bag for my Longitude and wondering if anyone has good experiences. It needs to be relatively affordable and some degree of waterproofing is preferred, although anything that needs to be kept 100% dry will go in dry bags elsewhere. Looking at Alpkit, Wee Cog, Dirtbags...

sold Deore SL-M610 2/3x10 shifters pair

Excellent condition, working perfectly, cosmetically they look more or less new, take-offs from my Longitude. LH shifter allows you to switch between double and triple front rings. £20 plus p&p to anyone on here before they go up on eBay? NB: Not I-Spec, but the ones with the gear indicator wind...

Re: Bye bye access rights

I’m surprisingly torn on this. On the one hand losing rights is deeply troubling. On the other hand the sheer numbers of entitled roasters I’ve witnessed trashing wherever they happen to be makes me understand why such moves have and will happen. Thing is that land owners have been trashing the ‘co...

Re: Bye bye access rights

Much of the population is completely disconnected from the countryside. They have no 'real' interest or idea and therefor are drawn to the popular honey-pots ... many of which are easily accessed by car which tends to compound the problem. The entire country could be open but those hot spots would ...

Re: wtd: left hand (front) double/triple friction thumb shifter

I've got a set of old school Deore thumbies, think they were 7speed? I think the right hand indexing was a bit gritty but the left hand was okay. I'll dig them out of the spares box and let you know if you're interested? That'd be ideal actually, I love those things. Only really need the LH, but if...

Re: wtd: left hand (front) double/triple friction thumb shifter

I have a spare pair of bar end shifters, 8 or 9 speed but that doesn't matter for the left side front mech shifter. They're not in perfect condition and I'm only ever likely to use the RH one in the future so you could have the LH one for a tenner? PM if interested. Remember, you will need an adapt...
