Book. 'Revolutions: How Women Changed The World On Two Wheels". Not started it yet, added to the pile. Rather topical I feel, given the thread round the corner. ooh that looks good, i think i'll get it. i'll be interested to hear what you think of it too. Moved to top of pile. Just quickly ski...

Re: Blackdown Hills Devon - Question
I like using rowmaps for this kind of thing. You can uncheck the footpath option in the preferences, then it just shows you bridleways, restricted byways and BOATs. I then plot my route on Ride With GPS, using a combination of its mapping, rowmaps and Google Maps. https://www.rowmaps.com/showmap.ph...

Blackdown Hills Devon - Question
Is anyone knowledgeable of/local to this area and able to recommend routes? I have the chance to stay there for a few days, on the western side of the AONB. I won't have transport other than the bike (cx or hardtail mtb, not decided which to take yet) so any routes starting near Honiton would be gre...

Re: YD300 2021
Yes, that's the descent on the 300. There's a couple of other descents in the immediate vicinity that are easier to find - you have to just trust that the GPX line will lead you to somewhere you can get down. I think the KOM time was around 3 minutes when I rode it. You need to have quite a bit in ...

Re: (Vegetarian) Quality Dehydrated meals: what options might I have missed?
Huel do a hot and savoury version now with three flavours. I've not tried it but it works out at £2.35 per meal and is nutritionally complete. https://uk.huel.com/products/huel-hot-savoury The only downside is that you have to spend £50. I've heard it's better than the shakes and a really simple 'j...

This is way beyond me for a weekend but how technical is it? Just wondering whether it would be a good route to do over a longer period. Re: Topical Article By A Woman Who Bothies Alone
As previously said, some of the responses on here have been truly heartening, and i am really glad to have seen them. On the subject of whether the article should have been written, I think it should, its an important topic. The reason there are negligible if any cases of sexual violence against wom...

How they wish to be treated... just start listening Absolutely. Everyones an individual, but when you meet a stranger, you have to start somewhere. Do you treat them the same to start with, or make an assumption on how they wish to be treated based on their gender? I think that depends on how you t...

Re: Topical Article By A Woman Who Bothies Alone
A really good article and the advice is spot on, sometimes all that's needed to turn a situation around is for one of the men present to express that the 'banter' isn't appropriate.
For the future it's important that we educate our boys and young men too.

Re: (Vegetarian) Quality Dehydrated meals: what options might I have missed?
Like the look of the Huel stuff, especially as it effectivley uses less packaging. I had a quick look on their site but couldn’t see an option to choose what meals you get, is that possible? I’m ok with the £50 spend as at that price per meal it’s cost effective to carry as a lunch on a crappy cold...
