Re: Yet more quilts...
I've been watching this thread with interest as I'm also looing at upgrading my sleeping bag. For a while I keep coming back to this Thermorest Corus 32 but I have my doubts to the 0 degree comfort level. Can anyone advise on whether this is likely to be achieved from the down fill? https://www.ultr...

Re: Bikepacking tent
I've a trekker Stealth 1 and I too find the entering/exiting awkward and I'm 5'5. Otherwise, I'm more impressed than I thought I was going to be with. Still learning to pitch it better though. Can I ask how you pack it in your bike bags? Outer/inner together in its sack or separated and packed/stuff...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
2nd night out and went on a trip to Happisbrugh beach, riding out 16m. Took a few wrong turns so it took a bit of effort to get there with some light to set-up. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/KCUSd7S8sq5Ueq0-dS6nQv8vnbT-Li6sEuZJICudCa2LdOJEabXBdJanChMw_lQpOXtMwRm07U1qhh8Bs1LomNcngmC1hA8_PzolmMsAC...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
Hi All, thought I’d post about my 1st overnighter last Friday. Had been trying to get out for the last few weeks but for one reason or another, something always came up. I’d been scouting for a decent sport for a while now and came across a lake about a mile or so from my house that was in amongst a...

I had my first night out the other night. Was only a couple of miles from the house, so not far. Was to give the Wife the W3W reference and that had me about a mile east than I actually was.

Yes, I heard that and craned in to listen...the presenter was, like, dont know what bikepacking is? I listen the 6 music all day and have heard him talk about commuting into London. He'll be along soon enough.

Re: Going tubeless...
i always spin them/shake them after I do it- even if the bead was fine and it went back up with a track pump - is it essential? I have no idea but its not going to do any harm Thanks. Inflated them yesterday and then went out for a ride. This morning they were still good. They might have lost a lit...

Re: Suggest a posh 8L welded drybag?
Hi Folks, I've been interested in this thread for ideas and I'm now thinking of plumping for the lomo dry bag. Can I ask what length of voile straps do I need? Is it the 50cm or 63 cm to wrap up and over the handlebars? Also, I read people saying that to stabilise the bag, another strap is then fed ...

Re: Going tubeless...
Just when I thought I'd got the tubeless set-up sorted this happened... ...after going tubeless last weekend, all seemed good. Tyres stayed inflated over the weekend. In prep for a commute today, yesterday I went to check they were still ok and thought I'd add a bit more air. Front wheel completely ...

Re: Going tubeless...
No doubt I learnt a few lessons and this thread helps too. At the very least from the point of view that, unlike countless other times, it isn't just my own numptiness that is the issue. We'll see how I fare when punctures happen and how easily or not they can be repaired. Ideally, like to experienc...

Re: Going tubeless...
It is Beto Surge Tubeless pump that has a burst tank to allow you to build air pressure within it and then let it out, filling the tyre quickly. As I said it then only took a few more pumps to get the pops. It stung a bit to buy - £60 - actually it stung alot to buy but I was in a hole, tyres off, s...

Re: What are you listening to now?
Yep, brilliant. Really enjoyed Hal Hartley's films and, uncannily, was thinking only yesterday about revisiting them. She was not convinced. I maintain the best song to end a film ever
Got me thinking about other long lost films...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Being pretty much clueless at bike maintenance and repairs started having a go. 1) Went tubeless - impossible to begin with due to my old pump not being up to the job - FAILED! Tried again with a new pump - SUCCESS! 2) Attempted to use chain tool to work out how to break a link and the bugger wouldn...

Re: Going tubeless...
I've also gone tubeless today. A couple of weeks ago, I got a puncture and couldn't remove the tyre as it was so tight (a WTB Ranger). Since then, the ride hasn't felt right and I thought I'd damaged the wheel when removing the tyre. That and the brakes didn't seem to be as sharp as before. So, toda...

Re: What are you listening to now?
My last gig was The Mondays. Seems such a long time ago now. Pearl Jam - Jeremy - brilliant song. Loved the song and album when it came out but kind of went off them when Britpop (how sub standard does that word sound now) came around. Heard this on the radio earlier and turned it up loud.. https://...

Re: Tinnitus anyone ?
I've had it for a number of years but it took a while to recognise what it was. To begin with it was only at quieter times that I'd hear a low-level but high pitched noise. I used to think it was the tv. As time has worn on, I see now for what it is. Doesn't really bother me too much, day to day. So...

Re: Todays ride
Another commute home 16m and much quicker even though I took a wrong turning and added 10mins to my journey. Felt faster and stronger. Weather made it enjoyable too. A week off now too. That helps.
