1/1 - 78.4kg
8/1 - 77.1kg
14//1 - 76kg

All pretty good so far. Cut out snacks other than a treat Sat night. Only beer night is a Sat too. I've cut out Fri/Sun drinks. I kinda fancy one tonight though as its been a tough day at work and I've had a delivery turn-up.

A pair of Velochampion leg warmers. No idea on quality or whether I'll like them but not expensive so worth a try. I've been following the trousers thread with interest but haven't decided which way to go. Thought the leg warmers offer versatility.

Tonight it's been Cocteau Twins 'Treasure

And then Primal Scream's 'Give Out But Don't You Give Up'. Vinyl on this is outstanding (in case anyone's interested).

Re: 2022 Plans (to go with the 2021 Reflections thread)

For me it is about building the little I did last year. I could have done more towards the end of the year but for one reason or another didn't manage it. Now at the New Year, there are a few DIY jobs that will get in the way of, for example, BAMs but we'll see. Start with some over-nighters locally...

Re: Fat Fighters '22 - (The year of victory edition!)

Well it was wet and muddy this morning with the dog giving me one of those 'WTF!' moments half way round the trail. Told him not to be soft. Mind you, I did have to wring him out at the end. I'd say the reason is more boring and that the scales kind of re-set themselves. Maybe they're shocked at my ...

Re: Fat Fighters '22 - (The year of victory edition!)

Weigh-in after run this morning. Never really trust our scales fully. Pre-shower 78kg. Post shower 77.1kg. What is that all about? The lower weight seems right considering this weeks efforts, so I'm going with that unless someone can persuade me otherwise.

Re: Hebridean way - when?

This is on my list, not this year but maybe next. I spent about 3 summer holidays there when I was a teen, having relatives living there on Benbecula. Just an amazing place and memories of the place have stayed with me.

Hi, for those who have one of the Polaris jackets, are these larger sized? Small more medium or med more large? These seems to good a deal to pass up.

I'll join too. Weighed today at 78.4kg and aim to get to 72kg, or nearabout. Did the same loss about the start of summer last year but then put it back on as Winter neared. Too many biscuits and snacks...maybe beer too.

Re: The dodgy tradesmen of old rant

I agree with Jay91 with 50mm only required for longer runs. Renovated my bathroom and found the bathroom and sink waste didn't fall away but instead had to make its way uphill for most of the length.

Re: What are you listening to now?

My 16 yr old daughter is a vinyl convert and is keen on getting some Abba. On a weekend in Brighton, we spent time escaping the rest of the Family's shopping by heading to record shops. She was after getting some Abba LPs. They were asking for about £15 for a 2nd hand greatest hits LP that was no be...

Re: What are you listening to now?

Bit of a youthful revival at BDS mansions, the recent addition of a record deck to the west wing and subsequent wallet emptying experience of buying vinyl again means I’ve gone retro, Clash- London calling, Jam- setting sons and now some Stranglers…. But you'll be getting the satisfaction of owning...

Considering I live so close to numerous beaches, I've never ran along any of them. Dog had to have a trim nearby, so I wasted time running along Norfolk coastline near Bacton. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/fLaBsPzc7uUCR_quIwv8T8Y9Olw4BZ7mM1Pba9tPlB1mdxZKCHtCJT-jqFeBj6T0mxj3fgc4gLsDP4wWP9Kvx-24St...

Hi Al, I'm interested in the jacket. How is the fit? I've been looking at reviews that suggest it comes up large while others suggest small.

Re: Today's Run

Regular Saturday morning run along a trail with the ever more reluctant dog. After a mile and half, 10m in front, a deer came out the bushes on one side and went across my path to the other side and into a field...then came a second...then a third...and then a fourth. Stood watching them for a few m...

Friday is usually office but this week I was needed to cover school run. Work has been a right arse so booked the day off and planned for a day pretty much to myself...bike ride, nice lunch, a few hours playing records with no one to moan at my impeccable taste. It's been a long time coming. Younges...

This too caught me out with my 1st puncture with my new bike. Got a puncture but it just happened to be my 1st ride out with my new tool bag, mini pump and all. Could not get the freakin' levers underneath the tyre and walked 2 miles home. As others have said, stood on the tyre and pulled the rim. C...
