Re: Lockdown creations
Get a set of those "a different colour for each food type" chopping boards, which are one or two mm thick. Set of 4 for a couple of quid, from B&M - not my usual shop, but I was on a serious "hunting for stuff that can be repurposed" mission Actually went out with this expre...

Re: More frame gear, long burn project
Also, I'm liking the light grey material on the inside of the straps, is it grippy? And where did you source it? Grey material just pvc or tpu canvas. Point North. It is quite grippy, I got some how much do you need. I'll check, about £7 /metre free postage. I'll check the width, 120 or 150cm? It i...

Re: Need a new mat.. Exped worth a punt?
I used it a, weekend ago when the temperature dropped to below 10°c, I had a thin 3mm mat under it to protect it, it was just an underfloor insulation off cut, of little insulation value. I slept in all my gear in a wet sleeping Bag VANGO 3 season Synthetic. The only thing that bothered me were wet ...

'Nah then' .. I look forward to the Northpeaks100 thread, but I didn't even manage 30m or was it 50k? Note to self, get fit & pencil in for next year. Lineloc work a bit like the buckles on (shoulder)adjuster strap, pull tighten, lift to release... Just to confuse you, I was from Halifax, but ma...

Re: More frame gear, long burn project
Full length zips are nothing new. But can be a PITA, with braces (advised with overtrews generally, they creep down with use...). On the 'push bike saddle', with side zips open, they sag or catch . Hence mesh added to control 'sag'. They evolved as they were made.... Side zips, then flaps /nesh ankl...

Re: More frame gear, long burn project
Trouser, took an old pair, loose fit, slashed at knees & seat, so added allowance for darts. These make fit better when seated on the bike. Added mesh at top to breath better (chimney effect, like mesh pockets) Added vents on side & storm flaps later. Iif I made again I would now make larger...

Now I'm intrigued by the purple trousers, they sound like an ideal bit of kit for winter biking. You're obviously talented with a machine. Can we have more details/pics of the trousers please. A few words about the two days I did actually spend in the saddle (apart from when I was pushing and swearing a lot)........ ........ Re: More frame gear, long burn project
The complete hand bar bag is about 500g. That's a bit of weight but rock solid support. Maybe I could source lighter stays, use a lighter cordura as liner inside the hardness, but it grip the contents so well.. The tubes were plumbing/ electrical surplus (offcuts). It carried 2kg without flinching, ...
