Re: Similar to Exposure, but not... is there such a thing?

I've assumed you have seen how the tether on the Joystick works? If not then goggle it, it's a loop passed back through itself so it just fits over the light, so it wont come off as it gets caught on the cooling fins but it's not tied tight. It's easier to do than explain  I saw that lanyard ...

Re: Similar to Exposure, but not... is there such a thing?

Depends on bike as to which mount I use, one bike has aero bars for example. I always use a tether with my garmin and want to do the same with the Race if I can

Re: Similar to Exposure, but not... is there such a thing?

I decided to go Exposure - got a Race 2021 model at just over £200. Not tried it yet except for blinding myself in the house!

I am thinking it needs a tether of some sort just in case - ideas?

Re: Similar to Exposure, but not... is there such a thing?

This has been a really useful discussion - I have a shabby front light and can feel an upgrade coming on. I would like to keep around the £200 mark.

Re: BB200 2020

I also feel that a lot of people make it harder for themselves, thinking that 24 hours is the target, underestimating how hard that is, and then bail when it seems unachievable. If people set off with the mindset to just complete the route, there would be a lot more finishers. Exactly true for me, ...

Re: BB200 2020

I was thinking of having a second go with a very different plan now I know a bit more. But given the attitude of the Welsh Government to visitors it seems a bad plan to go into Wales at all and causing upset.

Should we all be responsible and call attempts off until things settle?

Hi Euge, That was me and James! Nice to meet you and Lars en route. The look of strength dwindled after Crickhowell, as did our average speed, and at 125km in we bailed Rich/James Sorry I couldn’t remember your names. Gutted to hear you guys bailed, you looked confident devouring those sausage roll...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

Well I didn't have a great experience, which is a shame as I was ready for this. (or so I thought!!!) Started from the car park at Hay Bluff, knowing I would have the climb out of Hay right at the end. Also knowing I was going to push the bike first off. After only about 300m sealant was spewing out...

Re: BB200 2020

I wanted to ask about importing the GPX file. I use Komoot and imported the route without matching to known byways. This produces some odd sections. If I match to known routes it makes more sese as a route but might differ from te original. They both have different time estimation and distances too....

Re: BB200 2020

Is anyone mad enough to try this years BB200 on a gravel bike? I am tempted, but having looked at the Komoot stats of this yr vs last year, i think there is more off road this year than last year, and last year would have been tough on a gravel bike..... The other thing that putting me off is how w...

I was thinking of driving out of Hay and up maybe to Hay Bluff Car Park so I am up a bit, but of course I'd have to finish with the uphill out of Hay. :o
