Re: Favourite kit from 2020
My Stooge Scrambler IMG_0381.jpg What's it like? Are they making any more? It's fantastic. Like a big BMX I guess, but it settles into bikepacking duties really well too. Stooge have previously only done one production run of each frame. All the Scrambler frames have now sold, but I reckon there wi...

Tried to change the bottom bracket and accidentality rounded off one of the crank bolts... 🤬 🤬 idiot. https://media.bobarnott.com/gravel/2020-09-15-rounded.jpeg If you get all the crap out of the socket on the bolts & give them both a soak in WD40 you might be able to salvage that. I'd probably...

Make sure you REALLY don't need the QR ones, because they're pretty thin on the ground. Took me ages to find any a couple of months ago.

It's essentially a lightweight swag without the mattress. The side entrance has it's benefits & negatives. It's much easier to get in and out of, but it's a right royal pain in the ass if it's raining, because all your sleeping kit gets wet. It's not a practical solution without a tarp. ...and ...

Re: Rigid 29er (+?) under a grand?
Ribble Adventure 725?
It's a nice looking bike, and a better spec'd frame than the Bootzipper (although I like that as well).
Two options with Sram NX at £1,100 and with Apex at £1,500.
I'm nor keen on Sram stuff (although I do have Apex on my Escapade) , but the NX spec'd option looks good.

Re: Loop bar harness
I have a Restrap harness & you can just attach that to the front loop like you would to a normal handlebar. It works really nicely, as it keeps are bag away from brake & gear cables. Having said that, the restrap doesn't attach to the steerer, it has straps that go under the fork crown.

Fitted cages to the forks of my Escapade.
I used the Topeak widgets which are suprisingly sturdy. They have 2 zip ties each, but bolting the cage tothem tightens them further. I'm really pleased with the results.

FItted some loop bars to my Cotic Solaris. Can't believe I've not done this before now. Still undesided as to whether to change the grips to something longer? I do love the Rental grips, but they limit the posible hand positions. Solaris 01.jpg Was browsing the thread and saw this. I have this Sola...

beeswax.
You use it on diving drysuit zips, so it will be good enough for bike bags.
