Re: WTD: Exped Winter sleeping mat

I used a SynMat LW in a Hunka XL a few times. Was a tight fit, tricky to get in and out and squashed your feet. Worked for first couple of bivis though. I since bought a Borah Bivi J Zip in wide/long which is recommended under a tarp as so much easier to get in and out (but not waterproof by itself).

Apologies for the delay - I'd rather hang on to it as a spare for when friends come camping than lose too much on it.

Re: FS: DD Superlight Tarp

Price reduced - £50. Someone really should buy this. Mine is many years old and still going strong after hundreds of uses. IMO it's a far better tarp than the Alpkit R@g7. It's bigger, lighter and cheaper and although it has no side tie outs I've never missed them. It also shakes water off easier. ...

:-bd Top tip.

One Q I have in setting this up, does anyone use prussics for tensioning tarp lines?
As above I do this too on tarps guys - find it really useful for quicky adjusting guy lengths if you want to tighten or loosen without changing the peg position and they hold really well.

Re: Something for the coffee snobs.

Montbell do a very similar thing to that ortlieb one but it doesnt use re-usable filters as its just a fine mesh with stiffeners in it to hold its shape. Also needs pegs / sticks. The only issue I have is that these are 2 cup systems. I generally only take 1 cup and an msr mugmate (which is actuall...
